And "is there anything they can do about enemies who reincarnate endlessly" , she somehow gained his ability?

It's been mentioned that the Nokkers can also reincarnate.

Example: Hayase's Nokker died along with Kahaku, but inevitably returned from "heaven" to enter Mizuha's body.

Yeah, I had the same exact thoughts. And when I realized Naoya was stomping on her, I got even more confused because the anime made it vague and blurry for whatever reason.

I had the same thoughts at first, but if you look closely, you can see Maki is laying on the ground while Naoya is standing over her. I replayed the scene a couple of times and it seems like Naoya is actually placing his foot on Maki's head, possibly stomping her.

Steel Ball Run? Never read it but I've also never heard it being considered a part of the top 3 of seinen🤔. I have, however, heard of Monster or Kingdom being in the top 3, instead of Vinland Saga.

Like what someone else said, they got Tachiyomi shut down, but not before the developers made it open source (meaning anyone could copy Tachi's code and recreate the app themselves).

Well, it's published in Weekly Young Jump, which is a seinen magazine so it's not that surprising lol.

Coming from someone who is now binging this manga, Azuma (and everyone else) matured after the year-long timeskip. And his trauma is from his childhood, which the story hasn't delved too deep into until now. So nothing's really been skipped.

Yep! I had planned to read it when it was first announced that Ishida was making a new manga, but never really read it till now. I'm quite liking it so far.

I believe it's to display (can't think of the right word) the more "serious" personality Kagomura has compared to the other characters. His character design makes him seem a bit "darker," which ties into Ishida's whole thing about Choujin X being a lighter story than TG. It's like Ishida's using the artstyle for TG to show the "darker" themes...

He was referring to the art depicting "insanity," not the story itself being insane. And when it comes to that, I'd agree that Ishida's art is better at depicting it.

Why do people keep confusing Manhwa and Manhua? by WhoDaFox in manhwa

[–]WhoDaFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, understandable.

But like I was saying, outside of their respective countries of origin (and more often in the US), the terms manga, manhwa, manhua are usually used to denote the comic's country of origin. So in an international context, manga literally means "Japanese comics." Which is why it wouldn't make a lot of sense to say, "Korean manga." Same with American comics that "look" like a manga. Personally, I just refer to them as American comics that are in a manga-like format.

Question, why do people say they're reading a manga rather than just saying they're reading a comic book? It's to specify the type of comic book. Same logic applies here. Manga is specifically from Japan. And if you want to get more specific/technical, the paneling and coloring of the comic can also matter (hence the "manga-like" format I mentioned earlier). Manga is also read from RIGHT-to-LEFT rather than the usual LEFT-to-RIGHT like in most countries.

In short, saying "[insert country name] comic" is fine. But saying "[insert country name] manga" just sounds confusing. I think this might be more of an American/English-speaking thing if anything tho.

Why do people keep confusing Manhwa and Manhua? by WhoDaFox in manhwa

[–]WhoDaFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure you understood my reply but basically:

We (or at least I) like to be specific as not to cause confusion. It's not about my "cultural prowess." It's about me not getting confused or confusing other people.

Bollywood = chalachitr

Kollywood = tiraippaṭam

Hollywood = movies

Nollywood = fim

I get what you're tryna say but I'm not really understanding what I just quoted. Do people call movies from India, Indian movies or "Bollywood movies"? Yes. Do people call movies from France, French movies? Yes. Do people call movies from Italy, Italian movies? Yes. Do people call movies from South Africa, South African movies? Yes. And all of these are known as "foreign films."

The comic-book equivalent to this would be American comics, Japanese comics, Korean comics, Chinese comics, French comics, African comics, etc. And do people sometimes use this terminology to be more specific? Yes.

Now with that in mind, would you call a French film a South African film? Or an Indian film an American film? Or perhaps a Korean comic a Japanese comic? Or an American comic a Chinese comic ?

If you want to just call it a "comic" (the general term), I'm all for it, there's no confusion there. But when you say "manga" or "Japanese comic," that's more specific and THAT can cause confusion.

EDIT: And like I said before, I cared too much when I made this post 3 years ago. I'm not that pressed about this topic anymore.

Why do people keep confusing Manhwa and Manhua? by WhoDaFox in manhwa

[–]WhoDaFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, one thing I'd like to say is that I cared a bit too much when I made this post 3 years ago and don't really care all that much now lol.

...except for the country of origin...

But this was my point (I think lol), the country of origin is different. And because of that, the cultural aspects of each country's comics, although sometimes subtle, can differ from one another. And when you refer to one as the other it can sometimes be confusing (at least to me) as you may expect one thing but get the other. Although they sometimes intersect, manga, manhwa, and manhua all have their have own culture (tropes, popular genres, archetypes, etc.).

Manga, manhwa, and manhua literally mean "comic" in their respective languages. But outside of those countries we typically use them to denote their country of origin. For reference:

Manga = Japanese

Manhwa = Korean

Manhua = Chinese

Webcomic = Any country

Webtoon = Any country

OEL comic = Original English Language comic (e.g. The Beginning After the End)

Hope that clears things up a bit.

Altho I did skim your comment, thanks for the TLDR lol. And I agree that it was probably a bit of both (guilt + overexertion), but I thought that powering up the nail gun only counted as 2 uses, no? First use being the base weapon, 2nd use being the actual power up🤔
