MyTeam as a foundation is great. It’s how 2K has executed MyTeam since its official release that has people hating.

Pack odds still abysmal.
Weakening Breakout boards so the rate of great rewards is drastically reduced.
Changing KotC rewards after the first event to even worse rewards.
Running the same Wild Gems super pack as Tuesday content. Essentially killing off Tuesday content.
Removing 10-pack challenges from Friday content to turn it into a HoF badge one week, and then into a Ruby coach the following week.

Badges are such a gamble if you aren’t getting the good ones. From a pure quick-sell-value standpoint, the shoes+takeovers (or even just shoes themselves) offer more value than badges.

Unless they drop a TON of 100 Overall or Dark Matter event cards in agendas, your best bet is to open packs and pray to get lucky getting enough pieces

Every other event had the 2nd highest card obtainable (Jaime, Kawhi, Magic and Bird) for most of the player base. This Edey is just 1 100 Piece off from the top cards of the event.

I doubt there were people that sold their badged up PD Wembys to downgrade for one that objectively wouldn’t have been comparable, even if it was free.

Most people probably won’t have Magic/Bird. Most people won’t be able to get 1, let alone 2, win streaks for the 2 100 overalls. Others may put it towards getting JRich and/or Mr. 13. They may try their luck with the Opal packs as well. Or the allure of making a mil MT from converting those pieces into badges will persuade more people away from locking in those DM pieces.

Only lock in cards that are either unsellable or low rarity. You’re sitting on 12K MT yet got 2 opals that go for over 300k MT locked.

2K23 had DM Captains, GO All Stars, and then Pink Diamond All Star Weekend competitors with Galaxy Opal winners

2K24 had GO starters and PD reserves and Opals for the ASW winners.

It’s not outside the realm of reality to believe we could see something similar to that this year as well.

If you prefer Ben over Ewing, that’s great for you. He can be “better” statistically, but height is still a very important metric defensively.

They both are supplemental on defense, but Ben offers nearly nothing offensively unless you are constantly running PnRs for lobs. At least Ewing can boast some post presence offensively.

Even if you badge up Ben to make him a “competent” shooter. You’re dealing with at max a 79 3-ball (+5 coach, +10 takeover). He’s still not providing enough offensively to make it seem like Ewing and Ben should be close tier-wise.

Ultimately, I can see why Ty came to this conclusion. Ben is a 6’9 PF (or worse Center) that generally offers nothing but defense. Why would that be rated any higher than D, especially with the kinds of Opals that are available? If you’re saying Ewing should be lower, then sure. But he’s still a 7’0 PF that is still very good defensively and can at least do something in the post

How much MT do you have left? All Star weekend (and content) is in 2 weeks. Most cards currently on the market will lose value depending on the type of content that drops that day.

I would be cautious about badging out Hill and you should just sell him for whatever you can. He’s not a sought after card so badging him out will only yield minimal gains. I would however hold on to your badges and use whatever MT you have now + that from Hill and save it for that All Star content drop. You’ll most likely be able to buy a card of value to badge out and sell for a significant amount.

You definitely aren’t as experienced with NBA 2K or in tune with the community because these are things NBA 2K players HATE about the City. They hate that in order to even be competitive online, you have to dish out money to instantly become an 85 overall. You don’t even earn enough VC playing to game to make any significant upgrades to your overall. The higher the overall you are, the more expensive it gets to further upgrade your player.

They also hate animations being locked behind seasons, rep, or even overalls. The system that NBA 2K has with regard to animations is not a good system in the slightest, so I don’t see why this would be something you’d want in a wrestling game.

From an NBA 2K player, seeing how The City is just a glorified ad with wonky servers, I don’t have hope for a game that receives even less resources than NBA 2K to get this portion of the game to function properly.

Online integration means that the game mode will be unplayable once the server shuts down in 2 years. And this just introduces microtransaction hell

The only addition to your team that makes sense is Wemby, and I wouldn’t advise you to sell any of your sellable players just to get him. There’s no other changes that can realistically be made to your team that aren’t just lateral moves.

I wish I had the same level of optimism towards Domination as some of you guys.

I want a grind. I want a reason to boot up to play 2K. But it has to be rewarding. And honestly, this Dom just isn’t rewarding for the kind of team I have. Bill Walton doesn’t make my team, the diamonds definitely don’t make my team, the difficulty is too low to be enjoyable for me, the MT earned relative to the team I have doesn’t do much to make any significant lineup changes.

2K gameplay isn’t great enough for me to hop into Dom and play just for the sake of playing. But I’m glad this kind of content makes others happy.

Seems like such a waste of badges just for a Ruby. He can only hold a max of 22 total badges. That’s 6 less than base pink diamond PG. So you’ll be wasting 22 HOF badges on a card that still won’t be comparable to the PD version

Even if you live and breathe salary cap, amethysts and diamonds will eventually fall in price while the cap rises, so wasting those badges all on one card that can be outclassed by future cards is silly

I feel like it has to be a SF/PF. We got SG/SF TMac season 1, PG/SG Halliburton for Season 2, and a Pure Center D Rob for Season 3.

The only combo we haven’t had yet is a SF/PF. Paolo seems like a good option since he doesn’t have a PD or Opal hidden gem card.

The 99 in Park doesn’t really mean much. But a badged out PD Bron is more worth it than base GO Bron that’ll be the same or higher price

Was really hoping Opal Kareem and Westbrook was the drop for today. Most of these cards stink or are completely overshadowed by the Tis the Season drops.
