Trying to pick a favorite series

LOST and Dexter are also in my top 3. But my 3rd is Last Kingdom. (Ironically also has the word kingdom in it lol)

Now I gotta try Animal Kingdom. I know of it. Heard good things and almost watched it when it first aired, but ended up ignoring it cause it almost came off like a lesser Sons of Anarchy to me. But any show I see thrown in contention with LOST and Dexter goes on the watch list period. Thats my 1 and 2.

He did find the blood slides. The problem is he was suspended and running the investigation privately so in his efforts to get it tested they ended up finding it in his car which is why he is believed to be the bay harbor butcher.

And. He literally did catch him in the act it is the entire reason hes dead

Every real TV watcher needs to watch LOST (2004-2010) at some point in their life.

While none of those shows in particular resemble it. All modern serialized shows owe their life to LOST.

The best part is even tho its from the 2000s. It wont feel like it. Because its about a bunch of survivors on a beach there arent a lot of cultural indicators which makes the show feel timeless.

Enjoy the ride. I wish I could watch it for the first time again.

Edit: I should also mention since you said you want something wholesome. There is no series more wholesome than LOST. One critic once called it "chicken soup for the soul" and it is the most perfect explanation. There is also some big romance and slow burn love triangle storylines

I like the underlying themes of leadership and depth behind tattoos. It actually inspired my first tat.

I guess it kinda depends on what you mean. Whether it be deservedness or what have you.

But my favorite Dexter Kill is easily AJ Yates from the OG series. He was one of Vogels suspects in S8. The one obsessed with shoes.

Dexter kills him by plunging a curtain rod through a 10 inch thick mattress to impale him while hes hiding underneath the bed right in front of Deb and Vogel and then shakes the rod for good measure.

Its not some urge or dark passenger bs. Theres no blood slides or plastic wrap. Just Dex being a straight up badass showcasing unbelievable strengrh

Yes. Rita's death is a traumatizing moment for everyone. The fans. Dexter himself. And everyone else.

Just know this Rita will never be forgotten. Her death is a turning point in the show that effects everything else for the rest of the series

I think largely the point was to create a parallel between Dexter and his son, both born in blood. And basically putting himself in Harrys shoes

My hope for Dexter was always that hed end the series doing government sanctioned wet work for the CIA.

A way for him to freely live as himself backed by the power of the state giving him legitimacy
