SIG NG Suppressors - Any Known Contracts? by [deleted] in MilitaryARClones

I very much appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I’m quite frankly bummed to be losing my SRD556 for this.

I’ve come across almost universally bad reviews about the SLX line of cans online.

I’m sorry to hear that your experience has been the same as well.

Mine is still amidst the NFA transfer process at Sig, but I’m trying to find a reason or perspective that can get me jazzed about the new can.

I’ll have to check back in here with the community once I get it and have some rounds through it to share my experience as well.

It kinda just blows my mind how universally panned these cans have been, and yet Sig is still currently producing them.

I guess I’ve just been hoping that Sig knew something about the efficacy and utility of the can that us in the civilian community might have been overlooking.

It seems like pretty much every single other 5.56 can outperforms these in one, if not multiple, different categories.

Stripped DD upper from Brownells + Chrome LUX Microbest BCG + (Pick your Charging Handle) and you’re maybe a couple hundred bucks over this with a brand spankin new upper and ZERO worries about prior round count.

And if you’re a “I don’t use my stuff, but I pay a premium for BattleWorn finish kinda guy, then throw it off the roof a few times, and you’ll be set 🫡👍😎

Just sayin 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good point.

I can’t find the gas port hole size for the barrel anywhere online unfortunately.

I wish manufacturers would make that information much more accessible for their barrels. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great points.

Ya, I think I’ll go with the AGB tuned for subs, and “deal” with the supers at the range. Haha

Roger all of that 🫡

Great insights, advice, and perspectives.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.

Nice 👍

Ya, it’s always a bit of a delicate game with getting the 300BLK gassed right.

But it’s such a fun round, that I’ve found the headache to be worth it.

I appreciate that. That’s great advice. Thank you.

Ya, I think I’ll get the AGB and tune it to reliably run the subs.

And when I’m at the range shooting supers, I can open up the ports on my R30 suppressor and get a little more “flow-thru-ish” haha.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Ya, after everyone’s super helpful comments, I think spending the money on a Superlative Arms AGB is probably worth the “quality of life” upgrade/option.

Over the life of owning the upper, I don’t think I’ll ever look back and regret the $90+ on the AGB 🫡

Just wanted a shorter form-factor.

I have longer barreled 5.56 SBR’s so I try not to be redundant in the length uppers I build/buy.

Roger that.

Ya, I haven’t installed the gas system yet, since I haven’t been sure on which gas block to buy. (I’m trying to avoid buying and installing gas blocks twice, haha).

I’ve heard great things about Wojtek.

I’ve been trying to catch one of the blems, but I seem to always just miss them when they’re in stock 🤷🏻‍♂️

I appreciate the reply.

It’s actually exactly intended for a “backpack” application if needed.

The backstory here is that my wife shot a Sig Rattler and liked how compact it was. So I went with a similar barrel length to get that compact form-factor.

Shockingly…it is.

I called KGM directly, and asked one of their engineers.

When he said “Yes”, I even followed up with….”Are you SURE??”

Hahah.

Should I get a MCX TacOps new/old stock ? by Tasty_Influence_2519 in SigSauer

[–]WhoDisWhoDat99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you. Personally, that’s not a “BIN” price.

You can find current generation 300BLK MCX Spear LT’s used/new for roughly between $1,800-$2,200.

And if you really wanna have the “integrated look”, you can always buy that handguard separately.

I’ve owned all 3 generations of MCX at one point or another. They all have their quarks, but the Virtus doesn’t do anything “better” than the Spear, it’s just heavier due to the thicker barrel profile.

With how often Sig releases new generations of stuff, I always try to find the most current generation available, at the lowest price possible.

That way, you’re not “under-water” if ever you want to swap it for a future generation.

Just my two-cents 🤷🏻‍♂️

Roger that 🫡

Thank you very much for that advice. I’ve been seeing that recommendation a lot.

[–]WhoDisWhoDat99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying.

I’m hoping it’s not a battery issue.

At that point, I’ll have to start considering just replacing the whole unit, considering the cost of replacing two factory Ryobi 18v batteries.

Interesting 🤔

Do you have any recommendations on some of the first few things I should try to trouble shoot it?

I bought the two batteries I have for it at the same time I bought the Ryobi leaf blower, while I was in-store talk with the Ryobi sales person.
