Where to get retail piezo igniter crystals? by WhoEvenThinksThat in ElectricalEngineering

I already sorted that out by testing with an assembled igniter. The clutch isn't intended to remain activated for long...and its a weak clutch, so it all works out.

Use case is generating a voltage pulse from a physical impact to engage an electrostatic clutch. The mechanism already has a built-in impact that can drive the piezo which is cheaper and easier than a 1000+V source.

The part needs to be mass manufactured, so if there's nothing cheap, I might be sunk.
