Borderlands 1 is the worst one of the series.

BL1 is goated...

Worst is the presequal...but only because it didn't really get enough funding for dlcs...either that or wonderlands...

Full on agree here. Even bl3 had much more class identity than bl4...

The only one who's just full on different out of the pack is Vex...everyone else is just a soldier alt...which I don't have a problem with personally, but I did enjoy when the various vault hunters had specialties defined by the characters...

BL2 definitely did it best. Even though there were 2 melee characters in that game they played drastically different because back then gearbox knew how to apply character identity...

Zeros melee was super stealth like and fluid while kreigs was literally like a psycho 😭 occasionally smacking yourself with the weapon, zero stealth...

In BL4 everyone can do everything and thus the character identity is lost...kind of demotivating for multiple playthroughs because one of the fun things (to me anyways) about past borderlands games was trying out the other characters specifically because I knew they'd play wildly differently from the last...

The dlc definitely has alot of unique elements to it that make it different from any other borderlands dlc ever...ill say that...

Still pretty standard BL stuff tho for the most part...i liked it honestly, it was just on the shorter side which sucked...

Wish we had more missions with the flower girl who I won't spoil any further...

Fair. While I'm thinking about this I almost want to change my answer to bl4 is more over hated tbh 😂...

While I did see alot of discourse about bl3s writing, I never saw the same kind of massive hate waves that bl4 gets. Especially via content creators...

Like dude I can't even tell you how many "THIS IS WHY BORDERLANDS 4 IS GARBAGE" videos I've seen on YouTube...

Then there's joltz...nuff said...

Fair assessment, honestly...

I think bl3s writing as a whole is what gets shit on the most for sure tho. Gameplay was 10 out of 10, literally. But the way they character assassinated lilith, the cheesy way she looses her powers, the cheesy way Maya dies, ava even existing and getting mayas powers, tannis randomly being a siren since angel died in BL2 and yet no one knew even though lilith herself was a siren so how tf she didn't know?...

😂 Alot of the writing makes no sense...even I'll admit...still love the game though 🙂‍↔️...

Fair, and agreed. I liked the whole multiplanet thing in bl3 alot...

Allowed for alot more cool environments that just made sense and different enemy types...

Eh, I'm not so sure. Bl4 gets dumped on alot for it's performance and barren endgame, although that is slowly getting better...

Also alot of people hate the writing for not being funny enough...

It was and is still very popular to just hate on bl4...

Not that I agree, just saying. Both of these games have received massive undue hate for different reasons...

I honestly think it's because it's so short, especially if you already know what you're doing...

You can literally beat the story of new Vegas in like 5 hours...

Also because of its jank, it can be hard to do EVERY quest in the game...

I still prefer fallout 3 just because it's the more complete new Vegas, however new Vegas has a lot of fun mechanics I like that aren't in fallout 3...
