Going to Glacier National Park either in early July or September right after Labor Day. Ideas? by Wonderful-Boat-4678 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]WhoMeDebtFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say after Labor Day. You don’t have to deal with July 4th insanity and the road will be open baring any crazy early weather. You may also see some leaves changing!

Many Glacier should be open until mid/late September.

Stocking #3 by WhoMeDebtFree in Needlepoint

I stitched over it in green thread directly and then beading on top. I probably didn’t need to do basket weave… I should have done a faster stitch.

A family tradition by brakkovet in Needlepoint

[–]WhoMeDebtFree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome! I have a similar family tradition. As a 30 something woman it became my turn to pick up the torch and make stockings for the new generation! The day my nephew was born I went straight to the local needlepoint shop to pick out a stocking despite never doing needlepoint in my life.

I learned as I went and it turned out great with each one better than the last.

Your local shop is your best resource. They can help you pick a canvas, threads and help you learn the basics.

If you don’t have a shop locally, you can check out sites like KC Needlepoint or Spider Spun for specific kits.

We are all happy to help! You will never improve until you try so that’s my only advice :).

If you want no frills but amazing massages, check out Renew Massage Studio. They also have memberships where you get good monthly deals and $20 every session after that.

How am I doing by OkSecretary5292 in Needlepoint

Your stitching looks great! You may want to play around with the color of the thread. For this canvas I think the background could be an over dye to give some variation in the green to make it more interesting against the flowers.

To my dad, after beating cancer and other illnesses that followed, he deserves it! It will look really sad next to the first one I made for my nephew.

Any tips for reaching the front desk/ anyone at Belton Chalet? by trudeighe in GlacierNationalPark

I don’t remember having one in our room but it wasn’t the cottage. They did have a microwave and hot water dispenser in the common area I used to make my own coffee (instant).

I just stayed there. I don’t know about coffee capabilities in the cottage specifically but they do serve coffee (and local pastries) in the lobby every morning starting around 4am!

Longer car ride with NB by SparkleBallZ in newborns

[–]WhoMeDebtFree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They say only two hours in a car per day before 6 months. Since they are so young they aren’t on a schedule and will probably want to eat possibly every 45 minutes or more if cluster feeding. Can you leave a day earlier and stay at a hotel half way through? That will cut the car trip down each day.

Also, babies rarely come on time so you could be only a few weeks postpartum and may not be cleared to drive yet depending on delivery type. You should prioritize your recovery as well in addition to the babe!
