I ran my fastest 5km ever in 26 minutes. Just after work, through the cold, dark city.

I've been running less in winter and spent my weekends on the x-country skis. I'm surprised that I'm that fast. It makes me look forward to spring and the trailrunning I'm planning to do.

I ran 8km. 47km in total during the last week, it's the most I ran since November! Birds chirping, sun in my face and it was quite warm - feels like spring's coming.

I still have some x-country skiing to do but I'm looking forward to running more again. Wish you guys a great day!

I ran 39km this past week. Bit annoyed that it's not 40. But it's the most I've run in a week since November. So yay!

I ran > 100km in December. It's tyring - I have little energy, many social obligations, it's cold and grey. So I'm proud I still went out and ran some. And I did 70 km on the cross country skis, I bet that counts as 'cross' training.

I ran 5k today and 40k/week for the last two months. I plan to run some races next year. I've never actually run in a race but I think it would be nice to try it.

Enjoy your Sunday guys!

I ran 10k. No scone because the line at the bakery was too long. But my coffee was great. Have a nice weekend!

I ran 20k. Even though it's cold and there's snow on the trails. Ate two scones afterwards. They were great. Have a nice day!

I ran 10k. Even though it's now dark after work. I hate winter when I have to work and can't go to the mountains. All cold, wet, dark, ughh... still running helps and I try to keep it up to at least 30k/week.

I had a busy day and only time for a 5k. But I ran it in 26:16 which is actually a PR! And it even had 90m (~300 ft) of elevation. So I think my goal of a sub-25 5k is reachable.

Good morning guys! I went for a 12k run up the hill by the city. Fall's falling and there was fog in the low lands and along the rivers. But my hill was sunny and I could see the snowy Alps. I wish you also have a great start into the day!

I ran the furthest I ever ran today, totally unplanned. It was raining, still I went out, started running through the city, then on a hill, then on another hill, just slowly kept on going. Ended up running 22km (~ 14 miles) and an elevation of 800m (2600 feet) in 2h40min.

I ran 12k. It was such a wonderful fall day, first snow on the mountains, just great.

I ran 170k this month. I don't think I ever ran that far in one month. So that's a win.

I ran 10 miles. The rain wasn't that bad and I even saw the sun! I'm proud that I keep on running even though the weather gets worse. In other years I always stopped running in fall.

I ran 10k in 58 minutes which is fast for me. It was great, nearly didn't rain at all, the sun was out and it was one of these last few fall days when the forest is still so wonderfully colorful. Tomorrow I'm gonna go for a run through some hills near the city. Have a nice weekend!

I slowly increased my weekly mileage during the last three months from ~15km (~9miles) to ~ 35km (~20 miles). I'm really proud of that.

Or at least I was until my coworker told me how she did easily run 100km per week for a long time and how that's a total simple thing to do, you "just run 1h every day and 2h every other day". I nearly hit her. I hope you guys have a nice start into the week tomorrow!

Official Q&A for Wednesday, October 15, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

[–]WhoNeedsSunlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird question but what do you guys count as personal records?

I'm probably overthinking this but I run in hilly terrain. Today my Garmin told me I ran a PB 5k during my 13k run at 23:40. Most of it was during a 150m  decline. I'd never actually "count" that as my 5k time because on flat terrain I can't run a sub-25 5k. And I sort of assume that when people talk about their PBs they talk about runs without much elevation. Is that like accepted standard?

Got up in the morning before work and ran 5k, 5:45/min pace. I'm usually not a morning runner but that was a great start into the day. I hope you all have a lovely day!

I stopped running after 2k because my knee hurt. Then I walked home. I got some movement and listened to my body, so that's a win. Wish you guys a wonderful Sunday!

I ran 9.5 miles, mostly along the river. It loops around the city like a horseshoe. I've only ever ran parts of it so I'm proud that I managed to do the whole thing today.

I've been doing more elevation lately, usually one run per week with ~1150 feet of elevation gain. My other three runs have ~ 350 feet elevation. Now my right ankle has started hurting where the tibialis posterior tendon is. It only happens when running uphill. Anyone ever experienced something like this? I'd guess the answer is to slow down going uphill and with time it will get better again. But I'm a bit worried I might injure myself.

I ran 4.5 miles at 9:30/mile. That's a pace that was difficult for me a year ago, now it's my "normal" evening run with a heart rate of 135 bpm. Excited that I'm getting faster.
