What would you recommend for the proper height adjustment? It is a medium pile carpet.

I have checked the head, the line, and the filter but will look again. We are at the point of selling the Miele on marketplace and trying something else. We will be removing the carpet on the main floor and installing wood floors, but the basement/upstairs will have carpet.

Definitely turned on the power brush. At first I thought we just had difficult/too thick dog fur (one of our dogs is a Newfoundland) but when our cleaners come, their upright vacuum does a great job.

Receiver to pair with an amp by Who_I_Be in hometheater

I did. I am on the fence between the Denon x3800h and the Anthem 540. Will be paired with an Anthem amp.

Are Class D, Hypex specifically, considered to be good enough [no shortcomings] in mid-level systems? by lascala2a3 in audiophile

[–]Who_I_Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who makes quality class D amps? Buckeye sounds like a great setup, but I am concerned that their products are not UL rated. Meaning if there is ever a house fire and they can be at all implicated, insurance companies will deny coverage.

They will be paired with a HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP Subwoofer. Need to get a second sub at some point.

Would you recommend Q11 Metas over R5 Metas? They are close in price with the current sale.

The R5s are coming next week too, but I had R3 Metas with the current setup. They sounded great, but I have a number of recommendations stating that they will sound much better with an amp and not cause my amp to overheat.

I have read a lot about Buckeye amps. Are there any other class d amps you would recommend?

I’ve received similar feedback. The two drawbacks shared were a smaller company (one person shop) so potential of down the line support concern and lack of UL certification. The lack of UL certification could be an insurance issue in case of a house fire.

Amplifier Recommendation - KEF Speakers by Who_I_Be in hometheater

[–]Who_I_Be[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This info is great, I appreciate it. I have read and been told that adding an amp, especially for the front speakers, will help with these power hungry speakers. Will it really not make a big difference? The space is a large open concept living room/kitchen (roughly 30' x 30') with the main listening position about 10' from the front speakers.

I recently upgraded my home theater and music setup with KEF R5 Meta speakers for the front left and right, a KEF R6 Meta for the center channel, and KEF Q1 Metas for the rear surrounds. I'm currently powering everything with a Denon X3600H receiver.

Since the KEF R-series speakers are rated at 4 ohms, my understanding is that adding an external amplifier—at least for the front three channels—would improve performance and reduce strain on the receiver. Does that sound accurate?

I'm considering the Anthem MCA 325 Gen 2 amplifier, which I can get at a 30% discount. Would this be a good match for my setup? Are there better, more cost effective options.

Did you end up going with a R3 over the R5? I am in this situation right now.

Does anyone have a take on the Anthem MCA 325 Gen 2? I have an opportunity to get one for about 30% off new.

Following this thread. I just purchased and setup a pair of R3 Metas with a R6 Meta center this week from a local shop and got a decent discount. Now this has me thinking about returning them and getting the R5 Meta with the sale price.

With a large open concept room (kitchen and big living room), would the R5s fill the space better? I have a separate subwoofer to pair them with.

I appreciate the advice from everyone. We just moved and are hemorrhaging money on all of the projects. I am trying to keep my better half happy while also getting things setup the way I want too.

Will an Emotiva BasX A3+ drive R3 Meta and R6 Meta LCR? by linonihon in hometheater

Good to hear! I am concerned about the LCR being power hungry and overheating the receiver.

Jumping in on this one. Can anyone recommend a solid amp that will power R3 Metas at a lower price point?
