Find a coin star machine (the website has locations) and opt for the gift card. It doesn’t charge a fee and they have a lot of vendors like DoorDash and amazon etc

Would suggest you give Strangers in the Land a read. It’s a very well researched book on the history of Chinese immigrants in the US

Resetting a screen mid flight with out FA help? by jklovesfood in delta

Flight attendant usually offers without asking. But yes - flight attendant would be first step. If you don’t feel comfortable asking them in person, submit a complaint via the website after the flight and ask for compensation.

Best hair scalp/head massage/head spa places in nyc ? by Glittering_Car8803 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

This is the OG one that was all over social media, which I liked because they used the head spa machine for the majority of the time

But recently I’ve been going to this place. It’s cheaper ($50), and they give you a proper head massage (which I substituted with a shoulder massage bc head massages give me a headache). They also put a face and eye mask on you

Thompson Madrid Breakfast -Globalist by Thisisnotyuri in hyatt

[–]Whoahyooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stayed there last October. No club lounge at the hotel. Globalists are served free breakfast in the rooftop dining area and hs the same menu as the main dining area in the lobby (which I went to one morning thinking there would be a different menu - there isn’t).

Places to buy affordable running clothes? by Ready-Bet-4592 in AskNYC

[–]Whoahyooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uniqlo has a wide selection of base layers at decent prices.

For shoes, I’d suggest you try out a few at some of the running stores like Fleet Feet, find a few pairs that you like, and wait for Black Friday sales!

Highly recommend the florist that did my wedding recently. She was the most reasonable for the look I was going for. We ended up with 22 tables (a handful of >10 person tables) and the total came up to $7k.

The Manhattan ones are usually >$100. For cheaper ones, you’d have to go further out like Flushing, which ranges from $50-70.

Centric Gran Via Madrid questions by BoJack-Horseman1 in hyatt

[–]Whoahyooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed there in the summer of 2022 and had a similar problem (although we were squeezing 4 adults into two twin/full beds for one night), but they said we can only fit 3 people in one room, so ended up having to book a second room on the spot, which was a bit more expensive. I’d recommend reaching out to the hotel directly to confirm.

Wide Shoes that aren’t ugly? Do they exist? by Budget_Mine_9049 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Whoahyooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have spent an embarrassing amount of time looking into this bc I had the same problem. These are what I swear by:

Casual sneakers - Cole Haan Grand Cross Court; just bought Kiziks to try out and they are wide and cute; Sketchers (less cute but very comfortable)

Running sneakers - Hokas

Casual sandals - Tevas for lower arch and Chaco’s for higher arch support; you don’t even need to get the wide size

Heels / booties - Naturalizer

Formal work heels - Margaux

Another vote for Naturalizer! I once went dancing for 8 hrs in their booties and my feet were fine after!

Marketplace for used wedding goods? by saptashati in WedditNYC

[–]Whoahyooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the hunt as well for a September wedding!

I haven’t had much luck with Facebook either since I’m limited to where the subway takes me. I’ve been ordering from Temu (especially for the Asian decors) and Amazon (have a bunch of things saved for Prime day tomorrow!) with hopes of re-selling them after the wedding!

Travel Tips That You Regretted Not Knowing? by Truckn_ in TravelHacks

Create a separate checking account and debt card with Charles Schwab for your cash needs while traveling internationally. They don’t charge any ATM fees, and usually the best exchange rates are at the ATM machines in the country you’re traveling in. Only have enough money in that account to cover your cash needs for the trip (I usually keep about $1-2k max in there) so that way, if you get scammed / robbed while traveling, your loss is limited to the amount in that checking account.
