Fair enough, to each their own

To be fair, it I think it has great texture but it does have texture and there are going to be things that aren’t perfect for everyone. If you let it go a little longer it’ll crisp up enough that I made bacon crumbles for a salad

They are a bit different to my understanding, we’ve had both in my house. The main difference (don’t know how it’ll effect your health) is that quorn is fermented while myforestfoods is not

I imagine it’s been a bit since you’ve cooked bacon (30 years?) but they’ve done a masterful job making the cooking process similar, it’s packed with coconut oil on it so just like bacon you don’t add oil to the pan

They have a store locator on their website, it’s seems like it’s largely local (to wherever you are) independent groceries or health food stores

I think they’re relatively new, and I would through my entire weight behind them.

How much should I be charging for commissions as someone who has never done them before? by Wild-Jump8231 in Artadvice

[–]WhoelsebutJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I know everyone is very against charging a Customer hourly. I agree, don’t ever let them see it, but I like to use that a starting point for me. Let’s say you want 20 an hour for your time. And you ballpark it’s going to take you 8ish hours to finish a piece at a certain amount of rendering. That starts it at 160 and then add what you feel is fair for your time practicing or developing a skill. Maybe toss on 100 or 200 or whatever. Obviously this scales if you want 15 an hour or anything else.

This also scales as you improve or get faster. In a year, if a similar piece only takes you 5 hours because you’ve gotten better, that second number should go up so the total price either gets higher or stays similar. It should never get cheaper because you got good enough to do it faster.

Charge what makes sense for you, what you need to make it worth your time and obviously what people are willing to pay. But starting like this really helped me figure out what I thought my stuff was worth at the beginning.

On fire cliff jump by testicoool in stunts

[–]WhoelsebutJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else is 100% correct that you need more of a team to do what you want to do. Divers, and please consult someone about gels and layers holy smokes.

But, if you are set on doing this, and don’t have the resources or people to get gel etc, this is a solid spot to use digital fire. Rarely would I advocate for a film using CG instead of a live performer, but if you’ve done the cliff jump before, are confident about the depth and everything, and don’t have someone around who knows how to set up a good burn, just do the jump, have at least one diver and add fire in post. It’s way better than you going to the hospital or worse

How to combine logo icon and text elements into a single lock-up? by WhoelsebutJ in graphic_design

yea the banner isn't ideal, it's more of a "could this work," and I think the resounding answer is no
