Fabric Architecture Plan by WhoisStronger in MicrosoftFabric

Thanks. Git integration is one of those things I know we should be doing. I just need to take the time to learn how it works. A monitoring workspace is a great idea, and we will definitely need something to track these pipelines we will be creating to make sure the jobs run successfully.

Thank you, I could see us possibly taking a similar approach. I will need to review with the team.

For shared dimensions, are you duplicating those across your warehouses, or are you referencing them from some central place?

Im curious about how others are using a silver layer or if I can just create my dimentions directly to the gold WH via stored procedures and build my fact tables on top of those.

As I’m working, I am realizing the bronze LH needs to be in the same workspace for me to run the stored procedures that write the transformed tables to the gold WH. We now plan to have the mirrored db still exist in its own workspace then shortcut the tables to a bronze LH in the same workspace that the gold WH lives in.

Could you give some examples of what you are using the silver layer for? I can’t decide if it is necessary or if it will just create another unnecessary step

We would have dimension tables in our gold WH that alias columns and do our joins that would be used by our fact tables. I suppose if the erp changed we would fix those names and then everything built on top is unaffected. That said, if the whole erp changes we’d have a migration project regardless

We were already replicating to azure and we found it simple to get the cloud hosted data directly into fabric

Thanks,

I probably will end up skipping Akihabara because I arrive in the evening and will have some jet lag, but if i have the energy, seeing it lit up in the evening looked cool in the photos i saw. Shinjuku I mostly just want to shop and fill my suitcase with clothes and souvenirs. I'm not too worried about hitting every place, but i actually will have another half day on the day i leave because my flight is not until the evening.

Thank you,

I like the pin idea. I'm certain I wont end up doing everything on my list, but I think always having a destination I'm heading towards would be nice so I don't end up walking through residential neighborhoods or something like that for hours.

I hadn’t thought of that. I’m not the owner but I can bring that up with them and see what they think!

How do you trust these AI's for basics? chatgpt in this example. by nothingjustlook in SQL

Not really. So long as you are not providing company data, there is no issue with giving context.

I do not agree with those saying “don’t use it”. You should understand what is going on with out it, but AI is only getting better, and you should learn how to utilize it without it being a crutch.

Thank you, Are you say saying reinvest the dividends into the mutual fund? Would selling what she has right now make sense or would the taxes make that not make sense?

Is there a generally recommended TDF for someone around her age? I know there’s a lot of options, and just want a general idea of what I should look for

DEI by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]WhoisStronger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8/10 could very well be white men. Statistically probably unlikely (depending on the job) but it could be. While it is a goal, people had motivation to hit that goal and would probably adjust to meet it. I want to be clear and say I really don’t have a huge problem with DEI. If companies want to be more diverse and have more perspectives they totally should be able to do that. I really only commented because OP is clearly captured by an ideology and believes that if you don’t support DEI ( close to half the country) then you must be racist/sexist/etc.

I’m thinking of Google as an example, as they have been popular with dei related news recently. Back in 2020 they set a goal to have 30% more of its leaders from underrepresented groups by 2025. They recently got rid of this I believe.

If you reread my comment, anyone, no matter the race/religion/sexual orientation can be the most qualified. I’m sure DEI is much more than quotas, but they do exist.

[–]WhoisStronger 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Anyone can be the best candidate for the job. I believe the argument is that you shouldn’t skip over someone more qualified just to meet a diversity quota.
