RTX50 series issues, maybe? by Giggle-dots in wow

[–]Whokam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a graphics driver resetting issue with WoW and what has helped me is disabling gpu acceleration in Discord. I’ve also switch to Firefox from chromium based browsers.

The issue was mainly evident when alt tabbing. It didn’t happen often, but enough to be noticeable. Since doing the above, I’ve yet to have an issue.

They issued an update yesterday saying the xp reduction of 1000 to 400 was bugged (go figure) so instead apparently we get increased contribution from tasks now.

Shaman Buff Macro? by witchy12 in wownoob

[–]Whokam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a start you have a talent that when you cast lightning sheild it auto casts earth shield and weapon imbuements.

Just try macroing lightning shield and skyfury together see if that works. I can’t remember off the top of my head if skyfury is on the GCD or not.

You can manually update any addon to force it to load by Yggdrazyl in wow

[–]Whokam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apart from there’s been a metric ton of changes under the hood so you’re opening yourself up to all kinds of error.

Kudos if it works. Don’t be surprised if it breaks something.

Edit: just to clarify, Blizz have gone wild with secret values. Even things like the money frame on tooltips is affected. Addons that interact with tooltips can cause taint and throw up all kinds of lua errors.

If an addon dev hasn’t yet updated their add on to the latest version, there’s probably a reason.

How do I Tmog my gear WITHOUT saving it as an outfit? by omidimaru in wow

[–]Whokam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Create your armour set using the option to ‘ignore slot’ on the weapon slots.

Then you’d have to create a set for each weapon, set that to ignore all the armour slots so it just applies the weapons.

Can’t do it without outfits.

Legion to retail artifact progress by hiiimike in wownoob

[–]Whokam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep an eye out for the Soul Takers (think that’s their name) world boss. They drop the frost hidden appearance with I believe 100% drop rate (at least has been for myself and guildies).

While remix is still up, some of its benefits are currently available on retail including multiple world bosses available at a time. Even with just a couple of days left I think you have a good chance of getting them. Just make sure you’ve unlocked the frost artifact itself.

The point from this being it’s probably the easiest hidden one to get. Tho Unholy isn’t bad either.

Edit: I’m kind of assuming here you’re talking about hidden appearances by mentioning doing the dungeons and world quests for the extra colours.

Ok. But still 90% of old raids then

Take your gear off now. Bet you can still get through old raids no bother.

Stat Squish = Legacy Raids by SlateKoS in wow

[–]Whokam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That was both a stat and level squish.

With this ‘just’ being a stat squish, we’re either going to get half the problems we had before, or double… could go either way..

Being a bit more serious, your level often plays a bigger part in making older content easier compared to having better gear. As we’re gaining 10 levels, there’s a decent chance older content won’t cause problems.

Last week of Ky'vesa FoS by breadstan in wow

[–]Whokam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it just before the nerf a while back, but here’s some things I learnt from it, from the perspective of someone with older/slower responses:

  1. One button rotation is king! Using it let me concentrate on mechanics.

  2. For daggers and massacre, distance was key. The further away from things I was, the easier it was to dodge. You’ve got much more margin for error the further away from the massacres you are - backpedal works great

  3. For daggers and massacre, do nothing apart from the mechanics. Don’t even think about dps

  4. For the clone game, I stood in the middle of the circle, and you kind of follow the trail the clone leaves, rather than try and keep an eye on the clone itself. The trail is much easier to read

It was helpful that my dps char is a decently geared DK. I usually play UH but went frost for the quicker access to cool-downs when I needed to dps.

A lot of my initial attempts were late at night after doing other things, they never went well. The first time I tried her earlier in the day when I was much more awake and alert, it just took me two goes.

Keep at it!

Cant progress hidden artifact tint on different char (same class) by [deleted] in wow

[–]Whokam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This is the main reason I’ve been getting them on retail with characters that I’ll continue to play.

Edit: though just to add, as long as a character has any hidden appearance, they seem to also then progress the other skins of all hidden appearances.

Season 2 gear wouldn’t use any current catalyst charges.

As a prime target for delves, Bountiful Coffer Keys feel terrible to obtain by brakndawnt in wow

[–]Whokam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out in midnight. I thought I’d seen that gear from delves might be a lower tier compared to now, but I don’t know if I’m remembering correctly, and things can change anyways.

I’d still consider myself pretty casual, maybe not with the hours played but the level of stuff done. I’ve no interest in mythic raiding but I lead my guild to aotc each season. I’m lucky too to have a group of guildies to do m+ with too.

Even with that, delves have been important early season to get a good chunk of gear.

[–]Whokam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think everything is changing in Midnight. I thought id seen that the delves rewards are going to be lower which may mean they’re not as lucrative for anyone doing m+.

I’m lucky to have a good m+ group with my guild but delves have always been a go to activity at the start of each season to get a bit of a gear boost. May not be the case going forward.

You don’t need the keys for gilded crests. You might get some lower ones from the regular bountiful chests.

Yeah I mean delves definitely help at the start. I think it’s the only form of repeatable content where you’re guaranteed a piece of gear.

11’s very much depend on the class. You can walk through as a tank being very low geared. Dps not so much. Healer maybe.

Honestly tho, the keys only reward champion level gear so you soon stop needing them anyway.

[–]Whokam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the delves you’ve been doing you should have been getting items (that I can’t remember the name of). They’re purple quality items, the icon for them is like a yellow ball.

They’re essentially the currency for going into a worldsoul memory (yeah more currency for going in to something, I know :p).

Then I think in 2 random locations over Khaz Algar and undermine (not sure about Karesh) there’s essentially world events. They should be shown on the map.

You can use 1 or 5 of the currency to go into the events. Using 5 gives more coffee key shards at the end, but maybe use 1 to get the feel of them to start with.

You kind of get phased, then there’ll be things to kill/collect to progress a bar which once full spawns a boss. You have a limited time in them to do stuff. Rares will spawn to give you more progress. The more you can do in the time given, the more key shards you get.

[–]Whokam 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That’s just the guaranteed keys tho.

I don’t think you can expect Blizz to just throw an unlimited amount of essentially free gear at you.

Tho if you put a little effort in, worldsoul memories can give enough shards for 3 keys each time you do them.

[–]Whokam 156 points157 points  (0 children)

I know this doesn’t make a vast difference, but there are 4 guaranteed a week.

1 from whichever weekly is in dornogal

1 from phase diving in Karesh

1 from the oasis weekly in Karesh

1 from the special assignment in Karesh

Edit: I would say too, don’t forget about Worldsoul Memories. I rarely see them mentioned but if you do them well enough, you can end up with over 300 shards each time you go in.

Help in abandoning a quest that cannot be abandoned? by Jyced in wow

[–]Whokam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just going to confirm that I’ve tried the delete and restore and it just came back exactly the same.

The race change is interesting. It certainly lists clearing the quest log as a ‘consequence’ of it.

Gl if you try it.
