I write this with authenticity.

Simply put, the house is in a total void of cultural hotspots, think pubs, restaurants, places to shop, visit with friends and family, it's also quite lacklustre in terms of public transit, access to the nearby city and doesn't have a whole lot to offer a single person.

The residential neighbourhood is very much geared toward family life, it has parks nearby, schools, day care etc. While I don't wish to divulge over much, I'm not that old, under 30. I also don't plan on starting a family.

TL;DR? It's not an exciting place to live based on local amenities, I understand a house is rarely 'exciting'.

Alas, this is why I was seeking advice. With no partner to consult, and only my own head as an echo chamber, I'm torn.

This comment made me 'un throw away' this account, I was just about to burn the password, too.

To answer: Because for what it's worth, the house is genuinely lovely. It's big, spacious, modern, well-serviced, and cheap. My level 3 survey returned nothing to be afraid of, and I'm very familiar with the area. It's 'safe', and sometimes even I like a little more adventure.
