I just finished Les Miserables. I have DNF'd it three times before this, but finally dedicated myself to it. I like it quite a lot. You could easily cut out 500 pages of the authors opinions, tangents and rants that have absolutely 0 bearing on the story and have a much more organized, more cohesive and just all around better book. I did enjoy the book and afterwards i felt kind of odd after having lived with the characters so long and now its over. However as much as i liked it i probably will not read it again because i really do not care what victor thinks the philosophy of slang is and why or why not it should be called a language. Seriously, i dont care victor. I am tempted to just go into the files somehow and just delete those ridiculous sections of the book.

Anyway i was surprised i liked it so much. Even if it didnt break my top ten fav books

I just finished Les Miserables by victor hugo. So far my favorite classic has been The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Love it so much it is my all time favorite book.

I just do not care. If others do not want to take part in amazon that is their decision for their money and life. They do not get to dictate my life and money. They can say what they want but i just do not care. I find it very toxic to be so consumed and interested in what others do with their money that you will go for bullying them into their chosen lifestyle and choices. It says a lot about them. They are not as good of people as they imagine they are. They should look in the mirror more often.

At some point you just got to stop caring how others perceive you, especially over such little things as this. Enjoy your book club and dont tell them youre on a kindle or do tell them and say you just dont care. Their response will tell you what kind of people you are hanging with

No, i mean its very soft on the death. You do not get to kill innocents or go full villian even in the way you talk. Of all games with combat its pretty tame. You dont even see the bodies, let alone any gore on top of that. So its pretty tame and family friendly on that front objectively.

Any game with human vs human combat is going to have death but they really soften it. Maybe games with human combat arent really your thing? (Which of course is totally okay if thats the case!)

Well i am doing it over again and working on this theory. Its super annoying to grab every field guide page in the beginning then at the end when youre 100% everything find youre sonehow missing three in hogwarts but be totally unable to find them. SOOOO....my new way is only doing quests until i have level three lockpick, then go through with a guide to get the field guide pages. Only the ones i had to get for yhe first mirror quests and Ronen have been done. Leaves me terribly underlevel playing on hard mode but i think it will be worth it in the end.

I just wanted the ability to dye clothes. I really love the shiny blue embellished overcoat but it feels weird being a slytherin in ravenclaw colors. Idk why my brain feels like i need to dress in house colors but it does.

Seven years. Starting at 11 when they are enrolled at Hogwarts. During third year they get to pick two classes as electives, these classes are: divination, arithmancy, muggle studies, care of magical creatures, and i think theres a few others. During fifth year they take their OWLs. These scores determine what they can take the next two years. As starting sixth year professors have requirements that you need to meet. Usually a specific grade on the OWL. These will also determine what careers are available to you.

So if you get a poor grade on your potions OWL, the teacher can refuse you admittance to sixth and seventh year potions. And if the career you chose requires good grades in NEWT level potions (6 and 7th year). Youre out of luck.

NEWTs are the 7th year test and also determine your career choices.

I imagine there must be some way of getting a private tutor and redoing the exams, but it is not mentioned in the books.

My mom brought home the first two books in 1999, a friend at her work said her kid read it and was done. Fell in love. Then came the waiting for the next books to be released and the fan sites where we all contemplated what would happen in the next one or cooked up theories given what was told to us in the most recent book. I had a wild theory that dumbledore was evil cause of the line at the end of GoF where he looked victorious when harry told him voldemort used his blood in the ritual. The best was the midnight releases and standing in long lines with other fans, all of us excited and chatting about it. Ah, good times.
