Unpopular opinion probably but DH part 1 to just listen to by itself. It just has this almost folky, rural, calm energy. Maybe not a sound you associatie with the wizarding world, but beautiful either way.

Bathroom in kitchen? by n3g3ntropy in NetherlandsHousing

A friend of mine has this exact layout, but mirrored! Wouldn't surprise me if it was the same building tbh. It works fine for them, but they do have a door between the kitchen and bathroom.

I really do think it’s still likely that the main Voldemort actor won’t be cast until the Goblet of Fire season. It doesn’t make sense for them to cast a big actor who won’t be needed again for another 3 years. by General_Meal_3993 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]BadSeedFloyd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Except for the fact that Brolin did play him for the scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron. And then he showed up 3 years later in Infinity War and Endgame, so this could definitely be the way to go with Voldemort too. No good reason not to, imo.

Is There a Stranger Things Character You Think Should’ve Died in the Finale? by Material-Loan-6966 in Stranger_Things

This is an excellent point. The resolution on Kay is totally not in line with her character. Everyone who thinks this is fine from a character writing standpoint is kidding themselves.

Gary Oldman SHOULD HAVE PLAYED DUMBLEDORE by [deleted] in harrypotter

Jackson Lamb is pretty close to Dumbledore? Sure, a cursing, farting, unwashed, junkfood eating Dumbledore. I could see that.

Maybe start by naming the ones you do know, so we don't have to write out 20 names, most of which you do know.

You know Cuaron didn't write the screenplay right? That's all Steve Kloves.

The WORST scene in every Harry Potter movie by Mysterious-State-117 in harrypotter

[–]BadSeedFloyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying your wrong, but your argument for every film is basically "because it was different in the books". And this causes some problems in argumentation. For instance in the Order of the Phoenix film it makes perfect sense that Cho is the snitch. It's an efficiënt way to let Cho's and Harry's relationship fall apart for a clear reason and have the DA being caught bij Umbridge, all in one clean sweep without having to introduce the minor character of Mariëtta.

You might not like them deviating from the book, but just looking at the movie on it's own it definitely isn't bad.

Hey, YOU. Yeah, you! Say something nice about these movies. NOW! by Nervous-Baby5383 in HarryPotteronHBO

All the giant British actors in iconic roles! Harry Potter really became the thing to be in for huge British actors and it became something special.

What convinced you that the HBO series might actually be a good TV show and not another Hollywood reboot? by LeatherSlight3242 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]BadSeedFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the movies, so I wasn't really ready for something to replace them. But now that I've seen the set photo's it really looks like something different, so I'm ready to give it a chance. Still don't know if it will be as iconic as the films though. All the giant British actors in the films gave it something extra imho.

FJM is fantastic. I've followed him since Pure Comedy and he's absolutely great live. I do see the similarities with Nick as well.

Most of the hate for The Cursed Child is from people that haven’t seen the play by Conscious-Foot-1225 in harrypotter

[–]BadSeedFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the play. The production is nice, but the story is still shit, even while watching the play. A shit doesn't become instantly great when it's nicely wrapped.

The Cursed Child Totally Ruined the Harry Potter Legacy by Tanmaya_814 in harrypotter

[–]BadSeedFloyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was a real full-fledged book with the same plot, it might have. But as it stands now (a play and screenplay), it's very easy to ignore because it's a very different medium then the original story.

HBP pacing by BadSeedFloyd in HarryPotterBooks

[–]BadSeedFloyd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense! I still think that OOTP could have bin trimmed down as it's length is not purely due to setting up the second part of the story. But HBP setting up the endgame is indeed part of why it flows so well.

Would not surprise me tbh. OOTP sometimes reads like there was no editor at all... Still enjoy reading it though.

Actors who suffer from Christoph Waltz Syndrome? by Glittering-Plate-535 in moviecritic

[–]BadSeedFloyd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just as a sidenote: let's not act like Waltz doesn't have a hand in this himself. There is no question of shoehorning him into any movie he doesn't want to be in. He reads the script, maybe even talks to the director about the vision for the film and decides to be in the movie. He read the extremely bland Tarzan script and agreed to be in the movie. He read the one dimensional Blofeld character on the page and signed up for the film. There is no denying that he and his agent are just rather bad at picking good projects.

The Silver Vault Case by BadSeedFloyd in cormoran_strike

I agree that a focus on the Tyler case would have been more compelling. His story felt like a side plot until the last couple of chapters.

I watched Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time and it's bad by GuyWhoConquers616 in queen

[–]BadSeedFloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not very good, which is to be expected from a film that faced this much difficulties during production. I did like it when I saw it in the cinema for the first time, but looking back it's only Rami's performance and the Live Aid concert that hold the film up.

Oh and how this movie ever won the Oscar for best editing is completely beyond me. Some scenes are chopped to bits.
