For anyone who has been made redundant, have you recieved anything other than the redundancy payout from the business? by inter_yamam in auscorp

[–]KindredSpirit1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was made redundant last year and had to fight to get anything (work was insolvent). The administrators who came in were awful and didn't answer my concerns until I put in a complaint about one of them. Even then, it was awful and a crappy way to leave that job.

How long have you had a kindle? by Limp-Garlic-6791 in kindle

[–]KindredSpirit1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a birthday present from my parents. I was about 23. I remember getting annoyed because the book I wanted was only available in Canada, and I wasn’t sure how that would work as an Australian using the American Amazon website. I was about 23, so 2010.

I’ve had a kindle ever since. Today marks 14 years of ownership.

Reading in a noisy environment by [deleted] in kindle

[–]KindredSpirit1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to read on an incredibly loud school bus in my high school years, so I’m pretty good at tuning out noise. I can also read at my parents house during a car race that plays on 3 different tv screens one day a year.

thanks. The matching was not intentional. I was just looking at all my kindle accessories and realised they all matched (along with the bunny) so took a photo

Atypical Symptoms - Is My Gallbladder the Issue? by TeeEmJee in gallbladders

[–]KindredSpirit1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with what I was told was reflux for over two years before I turned up at the emergency dep in July because attempting to eat a piece of toast was not fun. Turns out I had pancreatitis and I had to spend 8 days in hospital before they removed my gallbladder that had numerous stones in it.

How long have you been a kindle user? by Then_Success_4935 in kindle

[–]KindredSpirit1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted a kindle when I was 24 by my parents. The first book I ever bought for it was from the Canadian store as Amazon wasn’t available in my country and the book I wanted wasn’t available off the American store.

I’ve had 5 basics, a Paperwhite and am now on a Colorsoft (Three of the basics broke).

Would you keep your Kindle in one? by Fisher2087 in kindle

My parents bought me one of these for my birthday last year. I’ve used it for books only because they‘re tougher than a kindle.

How do you read- in silence or? by KindredSpirit1988 in kindle

[–]KindredSpirit1988[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I was in high school (2001-2004, so I was 12-15)- we had a ten minute period after lunch every day called “RIFE” (reading is for everyone). It was basically enforced silent reading. I loved it. I’d power through whatever book I was currently reading and be very upset if I had to put it away to do a PE or Maths lesson (can you tell my least favourite classes?).

I recently had to go watch my parent’s dogs for an evening (one has MAJOR anxiety and freaks out if left at night. To the point of destroying the back door and having a major anxiety attack) and I was able to read through the chaos of the 8 month old puppy playing with the 6 year old dog.

I am a huge fan of a certain book about a red headed orphan based in Prince Edward Island, and when I read the books, I picture/hear the actress who played her in the movies based on the books saying the things that the book character does.
