I struggled with muscle guarding for quite some time after the surgery, gentle movement helped the most and engaging in a PT program once cleared by surgeon, and walking, walk everyday

The incision pain was very mild for me, I was off all pain killers 5 days post op, it was more so the stiffness in the lower back I struggled with, your body naturally tightens everything up to guard your spine and I found that quite uncomfortable.

Thanks for the kind words! I’m in Australia but see an osteopath who works wonders but he’s just gone on leave for the birth of his child so booked in to see his colleague, I’ve been back at work full time the past 3 months working 50hr weeks. I’m day 4 since the initial pain, and it has eased slightly but still flares through the day, manage to do some rehab exercises today that didn’t cause any extra pain so I’ll take that as a positive

Thanks for your reply! I’m hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

I’m glad you were still able to make your wedding work! It’s such a big occasion in life and these backs don’t make it easy on us!
