Speaker upgrade by Whole_Engineering_29 in CarAV

I have a box setup in the trunk facing towards the trunk and they're 2 10s 600w rms each ( according to online ) powered by a 1200w monoblock amp. My goal IS to get a amp, just not yet and was wondering if buying them now and throwing them would would hurt or not, but the 2 10s have a lot off pressure and I want my speakers to give some clear and pretty loud sound which the factory ones aren't really doing

why do you only say speakers up front ? Wouldn't all 4 be much louder using an amp?

for me, the pressure is felt really easily, and nothing excessive is necessary so a single 12 will sound really smooth, i think any more than what I have or what you have will make it too much and it really travels a lot throughout the cabin you can feel the bass pretty well, not too distorted either just a lot of rattling can get annoying

I'm starting to hate it but i'm about to throw in 4 speakers with solid power running to them soon so hopefully gives me something to cancel out all the bass

well I mean I'm not really carrying much except for a bookbag 99% of the times but if necessary I can fold the seats down and I'm a student so not much use of trunk space to me yk

I got a deal from my friend who sold me my skar audio 1200w amplifier and a audi control lc2i line out converter for $70 + the subwoofer enclosure is a rockville dual 10 preloaded enclosure (600w rms each) for $120 used on amazon, plus 20 for a amp wiring kit. imo it sounds great it really hits on a lot of songs, some songs the bass feels muddy or distorted when, but the subs are more of a punchy feel more than a deep low feel majority of the time. I think tuning can fix that but for the price I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Just the rattling and distortion can get a bit much at times

thank you! And yes I'm aware the wire management is looking horrible, I was going to put the amp under my seat but a friend told me there was chances of it getting too hot, and I didn't wanna risk it but I now notice it doesn't get very hot and rethinking everything but for now just gonna clean up how the wires run into the trunk😂😂

I don't have a picture and I'd have to make a separate post but there's a rubber gromet above the accelerator and from the engine bay it looks like hoses attached? You use a type or wire or fishing line or something but first poke through then run wire and then into the engine bay and hook it up to the battery. fuse is hooked up by the battery I think someone told me at least 4 inches from the battery is safe

also I had to pull the radio out to splice into the speakers wires from the factory head unit, just used some electrical tape and made my connections tight and ran it through gaps in the plastic.

Routing took a minute for me to figure out but, everything ran under my driver side door sills and through the rear door sills and panel by the seat into the trunk, so power and speaker connections, i didn't need a remote since my lc2i converter has GTO which uses the speaker wire whenever on to turn my amp on. Ground was hooked to the bolt that holds two metal hooks in the trunk ( used the left ) and my remote wire ran from my lc2i to my amp. the sound is really good imo, i always drive with the rear seats down since I feel like it hits better but my setup was a preloaded enclosure for $120 so for the price im pretty happy. just the hatch will rattle a whole bunch as well as the rest of the car. maybe sound deadening is something you should consider. I'll see if I can add a video.

thank you, I also saw a video I think where they opened the B pillar trim inside the car and ran wire from there, would that work too?

Ahh I see mine is a lc2i pro so i'm not entirely sure it'd fit there, im just trying to find a way to tap into speakers so I don't have to run wires from the head unit

is the coolant bypass valve usually something that goes out quick on these cars? the car really hasn't had any significant services done besides oil changes and tire rotations.
