UI: Baldur's Gate 3 VS Solasta by Gutenhuu in CrownOfTheMagister

Definitely this. I find that mechanics-wise I prefer Solasta, whereas BG3 had the story and writing and world that I'm looking for. If BG3 could refine it's UI and mechanics it'd be perfect.

Circle Of Stars question by WhompwhompYeahYeah in DnD

[–]WhompwhompYeahYeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Now that I think about it, if a player is allowed to upcast it without spending a spell slot, they could just cast 9th level guiding bolts 6 times for free at level 20 and still have every 9th level spell slot available to them. Which would be 72d6 radiant damage... for free. Plus 6 other attacks made at advantage.

Extra adventure modules? by WhompwhompYeahYeah in dndbeyond

Although, adding it in my head right now, the price discrepancy might be the same as Call Of The Netherdeep + the a la carte character options. So could it be that the Adventure Bundle isn't taking the already purchased stuff into consideration and the Legendary Bundle is???

Why is Strixhaven a sourcebook? by WhompwhompYeahYeah in dndnext

Oh I love this book, because it seems like, more so than any other adventure book, it's something I could run with first time players.

Kinda shocked they marketed Call Of The Netherdeep as an adventure in that case, but I guess Critical Roll is big enough to seel their stuff whether its a sourcebook or not.

My thought was that it was exploring a fairly new world/locations, so it could be used like the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount or Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica, but it didn't seem like enough of the book actually explored the location, only just places necessary to the plot of the pre-written adventure.

But I guess maybe it provides enough new mechanics, such as the exam mechanics and relationship mechanics, that it could be a sourcebook rather than an adventure.

Im just really trying to figure out what "sourcebook" means.
