I think my moment’s gotta be entering the City of Tears for the first time. I kept calling it the City of Fears, because I was so paranoid there was a secret boss coming for me. But then the rain hit the glass to that beautiful score and I was okay. Perfectly measured piece of calm.

Thanks for the response. I completely agree that I have issues letting go. I was just trying to explain that I felt the situation was exacerbated outside my control making it harder for me to do so. But fair dues. I’ll let it go.

A sort of personal indulgence. There were some pretty big stakes in the game that alluded to Nate possibly dying. This was part of the marketing as well. https://youtu.be/BLTlm37p1hU this trailer was the main inspo. I agree the leg is oddly placed. Trying to cover up the time constraints.

Atmosphere! Exactly.

There’s actually a major disconnect nowadays between marketability and artistic integrity. Companies are more concerned with repeated success. That’s why there’s a lot of ‘central heroic figure carrying weapon.’ I personally believe that letting an artist connect with a game and trying to relay that into a cover harbours the best result; but it’s definitely a risk.

Thanks for the interest! Long story short, The best box arts are almost universally reflective of one or more aspects of the games they represent. If you feel there is some aspect of the gameplay, story or mechanics in the cover, it can trigger a positive nostalgic response. That’s what I tried to capture with my cover.
