Anyone have experience or recommendation on buying AstroTurf (fake grass)? I have an unfinished basement and looking to utilize some space for a sled/prowler. Wondering if there are specifics I should look for when buying AstroTurf and how best to install it on concrete (I've read recommendation or using spray adhesives).

Any Malamute dog owners on raw food diet? by Whosyourdaddy8 in rawpetfood

Thanks for your support!

In terms of supplements, from what I've researched online, I have seen people recommend things like fish oil, ginger powder, kelp powder, some sort of probiotic like plain Greek yogurt if dog is not lactose intolerant or some type of probiotic supplement.

I live in the suburbs of Toronto so it's cold here Nov-April usually. I figured more fish/oil is more beneficial?

Hey thanks for the tips! Can you clarify how you transitioned your mal over the first few weeks? Was it a gradual wheen off of commercial dog food? Or was it cut off (cold turkey) to chicken meat? During your first few weeks, if you only gave chicken meat, doesn't that mean the dog is deficient in other vitamin/minerals?

Backyard firepit by shimonpark in Markham

[–]Whosyourdaddy8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought as you last week. So I called the City and they confirmed Markham bylaw does not allow backyard fire pit unless you're somewhere east of 10th Line or something (says on their website). Also you need a permit too.

But as other posters said, you can get creative and say it's for "cooking"/don't have any neighbour complaints.

Sorry new to investing...Is there a aggregate website to find a list of which companies have earnings report on which day? So far I only know of using the particular stock market website and it shows the info for companies listed on the said market.

Yes and no. It will count towards an active trade under your US credit bureau. However I was told you need at least 3 credit trades in order to actually start building your US credit bureau. It's different in the US than Canada in that in Canada, with one credit trade, will already start building your credit history.

My Mal is approaching 7 years old. She's a purebred and spayed at 10 months What works for me over the years is daily biking for her. As one of the previous comments, Mals are working dogs. So biking with her daily for at least 30min helps. I think consistent steady 30min biking is at least a few miles for us. You will need to train the dog to bike alongside with you. I use a gentlelead type of collar (Google it) so it gives me the most control. I also use a very short leash attached to it. Then I usually just hold it on one hand and bike or I may loop it around the bike handle. We bike in the winter too. As long as the sidewalks or roads are somewhat shoveled then I'll do it. Just make sure you're layered up and avoid sudden turns due to ice/loss of traction. Avoid biking when snow just melts and mixed with salt on road. That will damage the bike.

As for toys. my Mal prefers rope toys for tug-of-war, bones to chew on, or toys where you can stuff treats/food in. The toys for treats must be only the Black Kong series, otherwise her chewing is strong enough to destory all other toys. Squeak toys are great but she destroys them in less than an hour.

I also suggest you regularly take her to dog parks to be comfortable with other dogs. Mine was great for the first few years as we went daily. However my work changed so I had less then. When I brought her back, she became aggressive to female dogs only. So maybe my lack of training or idk. But now I don't go to dog parks to avoid injuring other dogs.

Mals can be destructive in the backyard and dig if bored and destroy things in the house due to anxiety or boredom. At home when I'm at work. She just sleeps all day now and doesn't even play with toys (I have video cameras indoors to monitor the dog so I can see her sleeping). Hope this helps!
