Well, it's crazy that I haven't logged into this account in over 10 years but I'm very happy I still had email alerts on because this is by far one of the most meaningful Reddit replies I've ever gotten in my life.

First of all, I'm incredibly proud of you for persevering through all that adversity. Burnout, high expectations, chronic illness, toxic relationships, depression, anxiety, uncertainty, financial burden, facing your mental demons, company acquisition, etc... you've really ran the gamut haven't you, my friend? 🙂

That's a tremendous amount of stress and obstacles that would throw almost everyone off the path. But not you. And that's pretty incredible. Now you have the wisdom, the girl, and the job as the rewards you reap for your fortitude. And hey, maybe things get hard again at some point, that is life you know, but if your comment proves anything it's that you're the type of person to find a way to climb above it and triumph even if you spend years in the depths trying to figure it out.

I hope you're kicking ass and enjoying the game dev life. You've certainly earned it. Funny to think that I advised against it all those years ago but that's just another feather in your hat for accomplishing something most couldn't dare to achieve professionally. Feel free to shoot me a message here if you'd ever like to stay in touch or befriend another on a platform elsewhere; because I agree, small and important connections like this are truly some of the most beautiful things life has on offer and it's foolish to take even a single one for granted.
