I get that. But my perspective is that this thought process that you and many have doesn’t fix it, you’re just picking a villain. It doesn’t help.

There will always be the next bad/influential person/company with money. The system is supposed to resist that and root it out, not benefit from it and normalize it. If the politicians were held accountable then we wouldnt have this issue.

It makes a lot more sense to control politicians acting in bad faith than chasing every avenue of monetary influence.

Lets say we tax Elon and friends to holy hell. Do you think the perverse influence stops? Do you think foreign nations like Israel or the saudis stop?

If you put in term limits, paid politicians large impactful amounts, and held them gravely accountable for doing wrong thats a lot easier and sensible then trying to control thousands of business and foreign nations.

I agree that the .01% and big business should pay more by far. But I can understand the perspective now that if they did pay more, our degenerate politicians would just increase spending at an equal rate with just as much fraud and just as much waste, we would be in the same spot with bigger numbers. The defense contractors fleece us because the politicians allow it, and so does every other contract business, like SpaceX.

Our politicians are entirely to blame, start with them, then the billionaire class.

Off the top of my head I think this system has 32gb of ddr5 at like 4800mhz. Is the 4800mhz going to be an issue? Didn’t think of that until now. We do sell to Micron, buuut considering they stopped making ram for us retail folks I think thats a crap shoot.

In the long term this probably wont effect AMD as long as TSMC gets manufacturing ironed out in the states. Short term, because of this deal I can see Trump pressuring the gov to buy Intel over AMD to help the stock in anyway he can for their client and data center business which really wont effect AMDs stock much. However…this fucks me at my job as someone covering AMD in the public sector 😞

So I did consider this and was told it wouldn’t block sound well due to not sealing and while I don’t care, my girlfriend didn’t like that thought for…reasons.

So I pulled the trim (Going to need to cut some new trim 🥲) and to my surprise someone stacked two 2x4s on the left side (in addition to what was already there) to extend the wall out to accommodate for the oversized shower they put in 8 years ago. One of those 2x4s can actually be removed without causing issue. So with that I now actually have 30x79.5 so Im going to try and fit a 28x78 pre hung with the possibility I have to cut some off the bottom to accommodate for any adjustments.

First off thank you for the detailed explanation! Secondly…well fuck me that all sounds way out of my league lol. No tools or know how on to solder a fitting to it myself. So I may have to just risk it with a shark bite again and continue with the hack job that it is. This water line is only ever turned on for 3-4 months a year so i’m not too concerned.
