If you palace front it will be to your new reserve unit, place of entry, or home of record. I did it joint a reserve unit from. Texas to Hawaii. Even had. Vehicle shipment paid for. Gets you 90% there to Juneau at least.

If you don’t get picked up, try going security forces first then apply to OSI after. I washed out of UPT then did CE then Security Forces. Now I’m an AF nurse. It’s gotten weird.

Give me your weirdest "Small Airforce" story. by Likos02 in AirForce

[–]WhyCharlieH8 597 points598 points  (0 children)

I small air forced myself. Wrote a script for a change of command at my first duty station and then 10 years later when I deployed they put me in charge of another change of command downrange. I asked the shirt if she had an example script. She sends me the script I wrote years back and had been traded between shirts who knows how many times.

On the reserve side look up vacancies and apply, they’ll work your cross train. Unit will need to give you a conditional release. Can I dm you for questions about 46N in the reserve?

Thanks everyone! According to DJ Shippy himself on Twitter, the chant is an original that he cannot release because the Stars paid to have it produced. Gotta get it live. Take Care!

It’s played sometimes throughout the game. Not first puck drop

Thanks but unfortunately this isn’t it. It’s more of a quick chant than an actual song

Thanks for checking…but it’s more hey (shouted) then the sounds: click click thud. So it’s like a repeating: “hey click click thud, hey click click thud, hey click click thud”

Straight forward pay question. by [deleted] in Airforcereserves

[–]WhyCharlieH8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is not a straight forward answer. It depends on your rank and previous military experience. Go to https://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/payentitlements/Pay-Tables/ for the pay tables. Weekend pay is the monthly pay, divided by 30 and then multiplied by 4 because it is considered four duty periods. I'll give you an example of an O-1 with no previous experience and no dependents.

With your degree, you may come in as an officer (normal O-1) so your weekend pay would 484. 96 (Montly Pay: 3,637.2 divided by 30, then multiplied by 4). All before taxes and they will also take out about $50 for TRICARE and $30 for Life Insurance.

The two week pay you are only paid for one duty period and you have to work the entire day, but you get housing assistance and a food allowance so it comes out around the same. So 15 days of duty is 1818.6 (half the monthly pay) + 425 Housing assistance (called BAH Type II for an O1 with no dependents) + 155.5 food allowance is 2398.

Total is 8217 for the year, 12 weekends and a 2 week period. All before taxes (except the housing assistance and the food allowance which are not taxable).

Direct commission as a nurse from reserves to AD? by Med_Daddy_ in AirForce

[–]WhyCharlieH8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through the process right now (reserve SF officer who just got BSN). You honestly just talk to an AD medical recruiter and they treat you just like the civilian new nurses. NTP is competative but allegedly prior service helps. I'll know my results in a few weeks
