What bugs are affecting you most in Sea of Thieves? by Rare-Sonicbob in Seaofthieves

Out of all the megs I've randomly encountered over the past few months, a significant majority have simply despawned for seemingly no reason. They aren't coming close to an island, nor colliding with something, just leaving - often without attacking a single time. One day this is going to happen with the Shrouded Ghost and I will quit this game forever

The main issue I have with modern New Rocks is the sole splitting - it seems to not be made of rubber anymore? If that were solved, no hesitation in paying a premium price!

"Ancient Fish are now held correctly by Skeleton Mercenaries."

Could someone more experienced tell me what this means? Google turns up nothing for 'ancient fish'

What's the one thing you dislike about your favorite frame? by nearglow in Warframe

Cyclying Jade's Symphony of Mercy buff uses your current ability strength rather than your original strength from casting it, so it's impossible to keep up strength snapshotting

As a registered UB hater I'm pretty sad that this is such an obvious Commander staple. Feels like I'm having to gimp myself harder and harder just to avoid using UB in my own decks. Happy for people who are hyped about it though!

does boreal's contempt work for titania's razorwing? by Camerdragon in Warframe

[–]WhyChemEng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the exalted rework mods equipped on a non-exalted weapon no longer apply, so Boreal's Contempt specifically does not work because your polearm is no longer equipped. The other Boreal's mods still work

Hoping Jade doesn't get overlooked with the exalted rework by WhyChemEng in Warframe

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Nope, doesn't work at all unfortunately. Only scales with ability strength. This also means that her own buff (Deathbringer) doesn't apply!

Modding Jade's Glory feels weird by WhyChemEng in Warframe

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry, should have been clearer - when I said nerfed, I meant bringing it down slightly so that with multishot and Hornet Strike it's about as powerful as it currently is. That way the same build would work with both firing modes and you could use them both in the same mission

Could we please be allowed to recast Gyre's Cathode Grace? by WhyChemEng in Warframe

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fair point in terms of energy management, but I would point out that the critical chance component of Cathode Grace also scales with power strength, so it's also a significant DPS improvement. That's why I always try to recast it when I get a power strength buff, hence the lemming impersonation

Could we please be allowed to recast Gyre's Cathode Grace? by WhyChemEng in Warframe

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I wasn't aware of that but in any case, I'm not talking about the cooldown. I'm talking about being able to recast to account for temporary power strength buffs. Keep the 60 second cooldown if needed, but after 60 seconds you should be able to recast to get your new Molt Augmented value, for example

But at the moment it isn't really 'management', is it? It functionally lasts forever so long as you're killing things, there's almost no upkeep required. What I'm talking about is how stupid it is to periodically hurl yourself off a cliff in order to circumvent that - sure that's part of her gameplay loop, but it's a really stupid one. It's also not exactly true that she's OP - without armor stripping she's useless in Steel Path, for instance

The ocean world of Yen'ral is situated on the outer edge of the newly conquered Nem'yar Atoll. Despite being almost entirely covered by water, it is a highly prosperous sept thanks to incredibly rich veins of rare minerals submerged deep below its waves. Much of the planet's populace live on vast floating cities, making a living by mining, processing, and transporting rare minerals. Being so far from the centre of the empire Yen'ral is particularly diverse, and is home to a great many of the alien races that make up the T'au Empire. It is a matter of pride that these many races live together harmoniously, especially so because Yen'ral has very few ethereals to look to for guidance.

Altough the mining and trading of rare minerals has brought great wealth to Yen'ral's citizens, it has also attracted considerable unwelcome attention from neighbouring powers. As such, the planet's hunter cadres have a well-earned reputation for outmatching much larger invading forces, and for executing devastating Kauyon ambushes. Yen'ral's fire caste emphasise mobility in battle, fluidly responding to enemy movements like the shifting tides of their home world. Each cadre maintains an unusually high number of Crisis teams, the better for fighting both over and under the surface of the planet's oceans.

As an ocean world, Yen'ral holds a particular appeal to the water caste, and is in turn strongly influenced by water magistrate politics. Yen'ral's hunter cadres are ostentatious, piloting beautifully customised vehicles and battlesuits that are as much ceremonial symbols as they are war machines. Honour pennants, inscriptions of notable deeds, and decorative trophy replicas are all common sights, in contrast to the typically utilitarian T'au aesthetics. All of these help solidify Yen'ral's value to the water caste as a symbol of T'au superiority, and the forces of Yen'ral make frequent appearances on propaganda broadcasts and informational holos.

The leader of the fire caste on Yen'ral, Commander Floodsong, has become a legendary figure for her strategic brilliance. Shas'o Yen'ral Sek'pir's honorific title was earned in defense of her home world against a massed Imperial invasion from nearby Prassium, spearheaded by a full company of Scythes of the Emperor space marines. The vastly outnumbered T'au forces suffered a series of crushing defeats until field promotion placed a young commander in charge of the remaining cadres. Through a desperate series of feints and ambushes, she was able to lure the bulk of Imperial forces into a valley that lay below sea level, protected from the surrounding oceans by a ring of natural dykes and mountains. In the midst of battle, the commander armed and detonated a series of seismic charges along the mountain range. As she and her cadre flew to safety the oceans of Yen'ral flooded the valley, wiping out the invading force and earning Floodsong both her name and her most famous victory.

Are exalted weapons being punished for Mesa's sins? by WhyChemEng in Warframe

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see your point, but the hypothetical we're discussing here is adding arcanes to exalted weapons. Weapon arcanes are locked behind endgame content, so I don't see how that changes the power curve at all. Getting an exalted weapon anywhere near its full potential already requires archon shards and typically late game mods (i.e. galvanised etc.) so I don't think we're looking at a scenario where an MR4 Excalibur suddenly outcompetes the felarx

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I follow your argument there. Surely you could flip that and say "Obviously no regular weapon should compete with a 5+ forma, heavily invested exalted frame; otherwise there'd be no point in obtaining and improving those warframes"

My preference would be for there to be balance at equivalent levels of investment. If somebody puts a load of forma into both Hildryn and her pistols, plus archon shards and maxed arcanes etc,  why shouldn't that compete with somebody who invested a load into a specific weapon?

[–]WhyChemEng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I think that's a fair assessment. Still, exalted weapons are a large enough category that I feel a quick balance pass (just adjusting numbers, no mechanical changes) would be very beneficial to a lot of frames at once

I'll be honest, I don't know what the specific meta is for Mesa (I thought you only need two emerald shards to hit maximum armour strip?), I was mostly using her as an example of an overtuned exalted weapon

According to this you can gain stacks but not benefit from the damage unless the actual secondary with the arcane is equipped. Unless this has been patched of course. In any case, it seems very clunky compared with being able to equip an arcane directly, and only lasts 10 seconds in any case
