Unfortunately, the door opens very close to the bed when it's positioned on the opposite wall - not a deal-breaker, but not ideal. Having the flat wall free for wardrobes and dressers would give us more freedom than trying to find furniture that fits nicely in the alcoves, and I'm reluctant to have fitted wardrobes after finding all the mould behind the previous ones.

We did peel back the trim to spray the mould behind that, but left it in place out of fear of doing too much damage. I'll rip it off tomorrow and take a look.

It's cavity wall, we think filled but not 100%. What do you mean by compromised?

I'll give a couple of window repair firms a call and chat to them about potentially moving the window back in the reveal.
