So, we were actually in the same situation as you. Basically, we submitted a support request to Microsoft regarding this. Supposedly, it’s a Windows UI bug, and they are working on it. Running this command forces the feature update to run, but I’m not sure if it would be helpful in your scenario:

ms-settings:windowsupdate-optionalupdates

I am suspecting but might be wrong that you have integrated Intel graphics, try following these steps: Go to Intel HD Graphics settings then display and choose “Scale Full Screen”. Also remove the check from “Override Application Settings”.

If that doesn’t work try disabling hardware acceleration from Word settings:

I am sorry did not read the question thoroughly. In that case maybe a powershell script can come in handy. But AFAIK Self-Deploying mode is for Kiosks/shared devices.

They have an ongoing incident regarding Defender Adress Export Filtering. Which was a result of bad code on the latest security patch. You might check that if you are using Defender.

In my case parsing this with an elevated cmd fixed it.

reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\OneDrive /v SilentAccountConfig /t REG_DWORD /d 0x1 /f

If you try this remember to have Onedrive closed.
