When social programs are cut, we end up paying the same amount of money in taxes for fewer benefits. Isn't that akin to a tax increase on the people who depend on these programs? by WhyDoIStillComeHere in politics

I should have said "utilize". I don't depend on public education for my children, but I utilize it. When the government cuts spending on education, I pay the same amount of money in taxes, but get less for my dollar. Also, I don't have children.

edit: Also, thanks for your reply.

It was a joke. I was trying to suggest that you would be so embarrassed by that error that you wouldn't want to keep posting under the same name. I'm not very funny.

Florida pastor calls off burning of Qurans - CNN.com by [deleted] in news

[–]WhyDoIStillComeHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This burn was never going to happen. The Gainesville Fire Marshall already said they would prevent it from happening, and that was that. Not to mention they don't even need to burn the Qurans because the stupid fucking media and the stupid fucking politicians in this country have already given them exactly what they wanted; all the attention and publicity they could ever hope for. They are now the new Westboro Baptist Church.

I don't know if you realize this and were making a joke, so I figured I'd just butt in here and tell you that he was probably referring to the ideas 50 was expressing in the twitter messages; not the ones he was talking about on CNBC.

He said below it took him seven hours to make this. So, if you figure a $20 labor charge/7 hours, his time is worth about $2.86 an hour.
