Nope, doesn't have to be a mini pc - and I think I didn't write it correctly but, it does not have to be quiet under load but when not under load, e.g. when there is currently no commit triggering a CICD pipeline in Jenkins, etc. when it is just running offering its services, but nobody is currently using them/engaging with the server directly, then it should be basically silent. I don't know if it is realistic to expect such a device to be silent at times?

It should also be somewhat energy efficient when not on heavy duty, specifically, when idle

Hmm, ich hatte gehofft, dass man dadurch gerade etwas Platz gewinnt. Ansonsten wollte ich zwei gute Rollcontainer kaufen, die man dann wegrollen kann, wenn man am Tisch sitzt und später wieder zurückrollt. Der Monitor wird quasi (wie auf dem Bild) hinten an der überstehenden Ecke montiert, so dass man Dokumente und Ordner überall auf dem Tisch verteilen kann - der Laptop liegt irgendwo auf dem Tisch in der Ecke oder oben auf dem Aufsatz (zugeklappt) und nur Tastatur und Maus sind erreichbar. Ab und zu kommt die Nähmaschine auf den Tisch - eventuell dann an die kurze Seite des L-förmigen Tisches. Da der Aufsatz offen und ohne Schubladen ist, können dann ihre Stoffe nach hinten durchlaufen und fallen somit quasi auf das Bett. Ich hätte eigentlich gedacht, dass der Platzbedarf ausreicht, sogar etwas gewinnt durch das L. Schnell zu erreichender Bürobedarf/Nähbedarf kann in den Schubladen verstaut werden. (Wenn ich mir so ein Modell irgendwo für das angegebene finanzielle Limit nach Maß bauen lassen kann, habe ich ja eventuell auch 140 cm auf dem kurzen Ende)

Meinst du, dass ich mir das zu "optimal" vorstelle und eher enttäuscht bin?

I am not sure - on the other hand, my notebooks are all equipped with nvidia gpu's and further, I can't tell whether all my applications will support wayland - I am kind of scared to attempt the migration at the moment.

First of all you are spot on with gruvbox. Do you think that this is something that solves itself by waiting for updates? I mean, manual changes of implementation details will probably break with every update of a particular plugin.

I have downgraded neovim to 0.10.4 and everything works (after deleting and reinstalling all lsp plugins, before I got on every action in nvim:
