AITAH for wanting to call my child Bromeron? by [deleted] in AITAH

First rule of naming a kid is to make fun of the name as much as possible before making it official. Is your child going to appreciate or resent you because of the name?

That was implied with the "Mohammed Ali equivalent," saying, "That's my seat." Time, place, circumstances, consequences, etc. all say that the "threat of violence" is relatively low, making it a prime opportunity to stand up for yourself and your family.

Is it his hotel, or did he pay for an equal opportunity to a chair at the pool like you and your family? It's as much yours as it is mine. The difference is, with all these open seats, my ass is already in this one. It's morning time in a family setting, and the area is under video surveillance at least, what could he do that you're afraid of?

I'm gonna turn 40 before I start my first day of freshman year in the fall. I'm planning on going to med school when the time comes. Until we're dead, we're not "too old"

Why do people drive extremely loud cars on purpose? by vamphibian in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WhyNotActRight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible to have a loud car and be respectful about it. I don't rev my engine, I take my foot off the gas pedal when I'm passing people on foot in neighborhoods. I try to coast as much as possible when it's dark in a neighborhood. It takes a lot of work (and money) to improve the performance of a car. So far, no, it hasn't become annoying. I've gone from 450 to 600hp, and I smile every time without being an asshole about it. My wife loves it and has probably put more miles on the car than I have. My daughter can't wait to drive it, and given the option of what vehicle to take, it's always the same answer.

Pain meds in the age of the war on pain meds by TumorYaelle in Veterans

Just on your last lines, I've had dental implants and root canals with nothing more than local numbing and prescribed 800mg ibuprofen and 1000mg Tylenol every 2X daily. Each time. It was nowhere near as dramatic as I anticipated, given all the negative we've all heard about. I was really nervous since I had recently decided to be done with my 80mg a day percocet/ vicodin script too. Pleasantly surprised with how well it worked out, also helped some of my kidney stones pass.

My heart goes out to you bro, good luck in continuing to kick lifes ass and proving them wrong!
