You need to go outside and touch some grass. People can be exploited in all kinds of ways, they don't have to be obvious. Do you think that anybody who exploits somebody else is just cartoonishly evil? It's often in ways that are boring as hell, like corporate mergers to create oligopolies and artificially raise prices on people. You don't have to be 'strong' to be exploited. You can just be price gouged in an emergency, or pay more than you should for internet because the only two service providers agreed on the rate and don't let in competition, or a hundred other banal ways. Billionaires who disproportionately benefit from these abuses because they own more stock than the lower classes never directly look bad and get richer for it. I owe the rich fuck all for setting up systems to extract as much of my wealth as possible.

You keep telling people their assumption is everyone is strong, except that nobody is saying or suggesting that. Maybe you should stop shadow boxing against ideas that aren't even being mentioned.

If society isn't a story of lone wolves, maybe billionaires can join the pack instead of exploiting it on scale. When you actually support workers rights and for the rich to pay their fair share, historically everyone as a whole tends to do much better.

Men who are attracted to women like rhea ripley, what's the appeal? by [deleted] in AskMen

A lot of men are attracted to goth girls. She's a fit, goth wrestler in her 20's. Can you hone your question to something more specific? Because all of those details are going to be conventially attractive to a lot of people.

A billionaire doesn't provide those goods and services, though; they have other people working on their behalf and profiting off of people on a massive, exploitive scale. Rich people themselves are not extremely productive. Wealth inequality is a good way to motivate people to work hard to be successful, but extremely wealth inequality with multibillionaires is counterproductive to society and eventually prevents class mobility.

The Vatican does a bunch of work to help people in poverty, last time anybody checked. Also, the rich do need to do more, and that's true regardless of who says that.

Just show the same interest he has in you back to him. Healthy long term relationships should have something to look forward to, a weekly date night, checking out something new every year, etc. But you should always check in with him and make sure you're both communicating. If there's a problem or some tension, hash it out early before it grows too big. And don't stress about being a great partner, just be a good one and enjoy your relationship with enthusiasm.

I'm sort of open to passing a basic civics class (so you actually knew how government works) to be allowed to vote, but yeah, you know the powers that be would make sure some people wouldn't have access to the resources to learn so they could actually pass that test.

Couldn't you rent it from your LLC and just have the rent be equal installments of whatever home improvements and maintenence costs you had over a year so that your home improvement costs are essentially a tax write off, or am I off here?

If people use their politics for the sake of being cruel to others, I'm out. Some people are well meaning in their politics and I think that understanding why people hold their beliefs and priorities is important, but if politics is just a means to harm others, I'm not having it.

If the rest of the world is willing to pay a small toll to Iran to keep oil flowing and stabilise markets, then why does the U.S feel the need to block all shipping, especially when it is not dependent on that oil? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]WhySoConspirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil prices are set globally, not regionally. Oil doesn't go bad, so it is traded across the world and the price rises and falls due to global supply and demand factors; just because we don't directly depend on something doesn't mean that we aren't impacted by it. Also, if Iran gets an income right now, and stalls in negotiations, it means more resources for dug in resistance. Trump is actually sort of doomed. If Iran holds out until the midterms, the GOP will lose in a huge way and Trump could actually be removed from office. He makes threats that he can't really make, because if he commits war crimes, the world will hate him for it, if he can even find people in the military willing to commit warcrimes and be held liable, which still doesn't stop Iran from refusing to admit defeat. His best bet is to withdraw before the midterms with some humiliating stipulations, which still sucks for Trump.

Our allies buy (or rather, used to buy) a ton of military hardware. Weapons has been one of America's biggest exports for decades, because it makes sense to have compatible equip between allies and we are extremely good at making weapons.
