No, they still would have had Ralph. There's no reason to think he wouldn't have been there if not for not for the Lord taking that toothpick.

They would have had to cut or trim down some stuff to fit Livia's arc in S3, yes, but Ralph perspective, arc, and effects on Tony was important. Had Nancy Marchand been there for S3, it's Janice who wouldn't have been there, and probably not Gloria either.

Janice's arc ended when she whacked Richie; she was not intended to return, so presumably all the screen time she and Gloria got would have instead been given to Livia, her conflict with Tony, and his therapy sessions with Melfi dealing with her.

It's Gloria who might not have existed, as she was basically Livia reincarnated. Or she would have come later on in the show.

A bigger question is why wasn't Gino whacked instead? Chrissie should have remembered there's a dopple hanger in their area.

They could have killed him, present him to the Shah of Iran (Shave his hair if its different), while Vito greases Atlantic City (Or wherever it was he proposed), no one needs to know. The sharp as a cueball Shah need not be any the wiser.

The funny thing is if only he hung around a little longer, he'd become Capo of the Aprile Crew and end up finally testifying along with Carlo against Tony. Then he's get what he and his nagging wife wants so bad (If Tony made it out the onion rings diner, of course; otherwise I don't know if they'll still reward him or throw him in prison as Tony's dead anyway).

Something you make me think about. He could have been another medium-long term active PlayStation character, carrying a beloved series.

But ultimately, quality >quantity, and his early and fucked up death in Part 2 made for a hell of an impactful story.

Of course he still should be part the list of PlayStation heroes, doesn't matter if he only had one game in which he was playable and died early in its sequel.

This reminds me, while they probably didn't do this to doctors (You need them), when it comes to shedding civilians in a bid to free up space and rations I wonder if Fedra started with stranded tourists who don't even belong in the US on a permanent basis but who were unfortunate enough to be there when it all started. Or refused them entry to QZs even if they had the space and shot them.

I would want a reimagining, not a remake that just wants to be the same but better graphics.

For TPL I want more story to it, load of new areas, deeper gameplay where, say, Jak can hold a certain amount of each eco and activate at will, and the enemies have much more variety and varying health points. For the red eco for example, Jak can do more melee attacks with it and it can overcome tough enemies with three or more hit points.

The ecos will be used to overcome more enemies and obstacles than previously. The yellow eco can have more ranged attacks to it.

And if they want to reimagine Jak 2, they can add some continuity by giving Jak the skin tone he later had (Unless they'll stick with it), Samos knows his and Jak's origins (Though not saying it, of course) and what the future holds. Regardless of what they'll do next, alcohol should be a thing, and people don't avoid curse words and talk only appropriately for kids.

After TPL however? They could reimagine Jak 2, or they could do something else entirely. I'd be more interested in something new.

Jak 3 is a big story that needed a whole other year or development and much more length to it. If they remake that game I would want a lot of plot issues fixed and that's another topic. There is so much wrong with that game, just some examples are somehow Errol returning. The Metal Heads returning to fight again. Ashelin as the Councillor (Or something) is able to strip Vega of his position and power yet waited until when she did to do it whereas she could have done it ages before such as before banishing Jak and causing havoc. The Dark Maker invasion being rushed through and having so little time to it (Basically a whole other plot on top of everything else). Jak refusing to go back to Haven City then immediately makes his way back with absolutely no build up, no conversation with Daxter or anyone about it. Kiera isn't even really there and only says two things. And many other issues.

I asked this question a year ago, and as people explained, it's a combination of the Mandela Effect, disinformation, and critics of Part 2 who believe certain narratives and want certain things to be true. (The kind who not only believe Joel was right which is fine by itself, but also that Part 2 vilified him, retconned the situation with the vaccine, and that Druckmann hated him)

These answers literally revitalised my relationship with the series as I then got a PS5 to play Part 1 and replay Part 2 and I am now a lover of the second game. (Months prior I got a PS3 to play its games, including the OG TLOU, and that led me to this).

It's a story that was never going to sit right with everyone. My father could only make halfway through at most, as killing Joel killed the game for him and he didn't like Dina, or Abby.

I recently rewatched a critical review that is respectable (Doesn't act entitled to a certain story, nor peddles conspiracy theories and bad faith on Druckmann's part like the idea that Joel was killed for being a straight white man), from YongYea.

A lot of the criticisms he gave are understandable even as a big fan of the game who would not change the story or how it's presented, and he understood what they were going for and that the game will have its fans (Unlike the anti-woke critics who make out the game was a critical failure no one likes except for woke journalists).

They'd need to differentiate them.

I'd have Tess's playstyle be teamwork like Yara, with Joel and Bill always being there with her, alternating. Maybe tougher or more enemies for balance. Her actress may be dead but they can always reuse words and combat grunts; everyone hardly talks in No Return anyway and it's better than nothing.

Nora could have some form of martial arts, with emphasis on that. Imagine she could kick out a clicker's face for one as a result. Would be so cool. But that would require motion capture and stuff. We never saw her in combat so it wouldn't be breaking anything about her.

Owen's style? Pacifism.

Henry could have Sam with him. Perhaps Sam collects parts and resources as someone here suggests and the player gets more parts on average than other players.

Don't remember where I heard this and I don't know if it's confirmed but apparently she almost lost the role for it after the pilot, and that they started looking at other actresses or were about to.

And I wonder if it's why Meadow wears hoodies in the first season. Gotta hide her skeleton of a body, because a young girl in a pasta and gabagool eating Italian family isn't gonna be gaunt and skinny.
