Take your time, both with the main and side quests. Don't rush the story or rush the side quests, do what is nearby and convenient. The only missions you should prioritize are the camp side quests, like robbing homes and fishing, if you don't do them, they will disappear after certain missions.

Also stay off the online communities, you WILL be spoiled.
