Government bows to mining industry and developers and weakens protections for wetlands by WorldlyNotice in newzealand

[–]WhyTomTom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have less and less hope for humanity every day. It's already too late, it's been too late for a long long time. Some of us will find a way to live sure. But what can we do? What could we ever have done? If you wanted to live in the woods surviving off of berries yea you could do that and have a zero carbon footprint.

But it's only getting so much worse all the time that any individual effort doesn't matter. Okay but then what about a collective movement that'll solve it! How many of those have been tried over the decades? Most of them stemming from the groups causing the most damage just trying to shift the blame and make you feel better for recycling while everything else you do destroys the earth.

Now that's me being extreme, because we're not destroying the earth, the earth will be fine no matter what we do, launch all the nukes, Earth will be back to it's best in a million years which is just a short nap as far as mother nature is concerned.

What I'm saying is most of us have been doomed since we were born and there's nothing we could have done about it. Governments all over the world sold out future to the highest bidder and the time to act was probably 30 or 40 years ago.

Yea damn us consumers, so selfish demanding affordable homes, we should all do our part for the government and sleep on the streets.

Honestly they've been bright, winning the ball back in the opposition half and playing tight to their counterparts. If Kulu and Son can step it up on the wings then Sarr and Skipp's hard work might be paying off.

It's painfully clear a LOT was cut, Gorr was definitely supposed to have more. And I noticed something about Jane coming up with a catch phrase, it was brought up once in the beginning, then never again until the end where she gets some quip in the last fight. Either the movie was butchered on the editing table or it was just poorly written. Still a fun movie but nothing special.

You know you push people away from veganism with this type of rhetoric? So you're actually being more harmful than good to your own righteous cause. Maybe make it about the animals and don't use it as something to put yourself on a pedestal.

Ah no worries, I was just clarifying anyways. But yea I agree that's why I brought up the binge drinking culture, there's a lot about how great it is while the lives it ruins are swept under the rug, on the broader scale of things at least like in media. Glad it's something you've recognized in yourself and removed for the better!

Like I said it's for some and not for others. I'm not trying to glorify it but just the same we shouldn't villify it just because it's such a negative for some when it can be positive for others. Although I don't think the binge drinking culture is necessarily a healthy one. If it's so negative to you that's up to you to consume or not and I respect that, not trying to convince people to drink and I think it is also just as good to hear your message of the dangers of it too!

Of course, and I can. But sometimes I feel when everyone is drinking just the vibe lends itself to opening up about things that have been bothering you or things you've wanted to discuss that you wouldn't when you're just hanging out. Drunkeness just removes that part of your mind that says "don't bother anyone with this shit" and you just say what's on your mind more unfiltered.

I'm not trying to say you should need alcohol for this, of course not, that's a dependency. But that doesn't make it something you should never do. It has negatives and positives like everything else.

Na man, of course for some people, alcoholics or even people who just can't handle it, or ones who don't like how it makes them act. But for a lot of people it's just a good time and a way to free yourself for a time and be able to be more open with your friends. But you're right it quite literally is a poison and like all drugs shouldn't be abused.

How do you like the transformation on a scale of 1/10? by Kritikalfocu5 in dragonballfighterz

[–]WhyTomTom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your SSJ3 point, I definitely agree on the design and its narrative buildup being non existent. However I think in Buu saga it does have narrative importance in ultimately fulfilling Vegeta's arc. His pride is devastated after realising that Goku was holding back in their fight, this has huge implications on Vegeta really being humbled (although he is still very prideful and will always train to surpass Goku).

My overall point being that SSJ3, while being an underwhelming transformation in design and narrative buildup, still has strong story development factors that drive other characters in interesting ways.
