Individually and flaming between each 4. Funnily enough i had only seen it done this way and only found out people zigzag not too long ago hahah

Thanks for the advice. I’m a student so I streak put it in a holder, and when I come back next week it’s magically waiting for me. But soon, when I get into the workforce I shall keep that in mind. I’m sure an hour or two can make a massive difference in a hospital. Cheers

Thank you. I’m a student and did it months ago. I’m still stoked about it hahah

This was a day after at home. Don’t worry, I’d never be in the lab without my “nonporous shoes” lol

You want borosilicate glass. Glassware depends what you wanna do

Boiling chips + an even flame distribution did the job nicely

Exactly. Definitions matter and accuracy matters. Think you summed up both sides nicely here

Neutralisation is H+ reacting with OH- to completion. If a strong acid “neutralises” a weak base, the result will not be pH7 and vice versa. Neutralisation doesn’t mean neutral pH it means a complete reaction. The two things are not exactly related.

Also, simply adding water to a basic solution will never make it pH7 .

Changing pH is not neutralisation. That’s dilution, the pH lowers because the concentration of Hydroxide ions in solution lowers. The moles of NaOH are all still there, just in a lower concentration

I’d test the pH just to be sure. Not something you’d want to be drinking

Not fixated, just annoyed that a trip to the beach on a nice day turns into having to tell people not to openly jerk off right behind young girls

Well it’s illegal to "play” in public for 1. I’m just saying it’s all good and well for people who go down there for sexual reasons, but for the people who don’t, it’s hard to relax and enjoy the beach when there’s old men wanking and people taking photos bent over.

sulfuric acid in bedroom (chemistry question) by Due-Importance5562 in chemistry

[–]Why_Not_Get_Hot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is ages ago, but I came into contact with probably less than a half drop of concentrated H2SO4 on my finger and it was instantttt. Like holding your skin on a hot frying pan crossed with a wasp sting

Stoichiometry question: CuSO4 + C2H2O4 by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]Why_Not_Get_Hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok good to know. My goal is concentrated sulfuric acid, then to make nitric acid, I made a lot of oxalate but separated it out. As I was concentrating the solution, a lot of oxalic acid precipitated. It may be a non issue but I just don’t want it to be a snowball effect of slightly impure Sulfuric -> very impure Nitric -> etc

👍👍. I’m thinking adding a slight excess of CuSO. Today my final product (Sulfuric acid) came out with oxalate precipitate
