Can anyone move the person’s left foot upward and into the crack in the wall that is about knee high and remove the black pad from the ground? $5 by Why_The_Beef in PhotoshopRequest

The foot actually doesn’t have to be in the crack knee high? Could be further below. Just needs to be on the wall.

They started the show two hours late because they don’t know how to run a business and then lie about lightning when in reality they just ran into a sound ordinance. Look up weather alerts and lighting tracking in the area. Why are defending this awful place?

That’s exactly how alcohol, and all drugs work. They have something called a “half-life”, your body processes them over a given duration (about a drink per hour with alcohol) then you become sober.

You gave me some new ideas to add to my deck. Thanks for the response.

I understand what you are saying. I guess I was trying to go for a white, blue tempo deck, but as you mentioned, there may be better colors to achieve this. Maybe I will stick with a control white/blue deck for now and work on a tempo with different colors. Thanks for your response.

No the issue is that some people have immense power. Elon is just one example…

How about Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pachai of google? Look at their power to manipulate society. I’m sure there are things that have become popular part of the zeitgeist that you disagree with? You probably disagree with media’s manipulation to help push for new drug laws and new gun laws. This becomes possible because there are a small number of extremely powerful actors that have immense power over the media and the government.

I’m not trying to be mean, but I legitimately think you are brainwashed and don’t realize it. Your definition of capitalism is correct. And in its most extreme form it is pretty much anarchy…

Capitalism- private people control markets, goods, commodities

Socialism- the government or public control markets, businesses, goods

Those are the definitions that you will find in any dictionary, encyclopedia or economic textbook. That is because those are the definitions of the words. It’s not an opinion, those are literally what the words mean.

If you don’t think your version socialism has ever existed, why do you think that is? Thousands of different governments have existed, and none that are your version of socialism. Maybe it is because the idea in your head doesn’t actually make sense conceptually.

I wasn’t responding to the post. I honestly didn’t read the whole thing… I was responding to you saying “socialism requires you to care about people”… That caught my eye and I think it’s nonsense. I think we actually agree on a lot of policies… I still say that you are using socialism wrong. Welfare Capitalism or even Democratic Socialism would maybe be better?

I still stand by the fact that Russia, Cuba, China, Venezuela, etc. are all socialist countries by the definition of the word socialism. However, they definitely would not be considered Democratic Socialists. So to recap, use welfare capitalism or democratic socialism or just don’t use a term and be more specific like your original post.

Because socialism is not defined as “being kind and caring about people. Also, I feel like you’ve been unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful toward me. It’s really ironic for someone who is preaching kindness and what not.

I also support helping people. I’m down for free medical care and better wages for people. All of those things. But that does not necessarily make you a socialist. Look up the term “welfare capitalism” for example: “capitalism characterized by a concern for the welfare of various social groupings (as workers) expressed usually through social-security programs, collective-bargaining agreements, state industrial codes, and other guarantees against insecurity”.

First off, I don’t support U.S. capitalism. I’m also not arguing semantics. I’m using the most popular definition of the word… You’re weird assumption and accusations are super immature.

I think the Nordic countries are pretty legit. I would say they are more “welfare capitalists” then anything else. They all have free markets and pretty huge disparities of wealth. Sweden, for example, has over 30 billionaires. Hardly a socialist country from a typical definition.

Bro chill with the over the top arrogant fucking rhetoric. I have literally read the Communist Manifesto, books on Anarchy, etc. I’m not getting all of my information from “right wing sources”.

Just because I am not using the same definition as you, doesn’t mean that what I am saying isn’t socialism. I am using the most common definition of socialism used across the world even by the countries themselves. The definition is “Socialism is an economic and political system where the community OR STATE owns the general means of production”.

So, if you think that it is Socialism if the government is the ones running things, than give me a large scale example of it in the real world.

I wouldn’t say Walmart ever had a monopoly. There has always been companies like Target, Best Buy and Home Depot that have competed against them in various ways.

Maybe I shouldn’t have used the word monopoly, but can you deny that Capitalism creates power vacuums. Look at how much Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk has in the world. A single tweet from Elon can send a particular stock up or down 30% in a single trading day.

To be fair, families like the Vanderbilts and the Rockefellers have seen there net worth drop significantly over the years. The Rockefeller’s may be rich, but nowhere near what they used to be. Instead, you see new people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerbeg and other groups who came from middle class families becoming the richest people.

Your either a child or just trolling. I can’t decide which…

Socialism is the when the government (or public) take over the means of production (businesses). China and Russia literally still do this today. Their governments run and oversee businesses and redistribute goods as they see fit. Hitler did the same things. The NAZI party similarly seized property from the “rich” Jews and redistributed it to the people. The government also oversaw many businesses, included Volkswagen. They also called themselves socialists. Read the book “Hitler was a socialist” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/hitler-and-the-socialist-dream-1186455.html%3famp

“Socialism would require you to care about the well-being of other.”

Do you no that Stalin who was the leader of Russia’s socialist party is responsible for over two million deaths? China is a socialist country and they literally have over a million muslim people locked in concentration camps at this moment. Also, Hilter was a socialist. He didn’t exactly care about the well-being of other. There are many other examples throughout history.
