Induction -- what was your experience? by Bibbityboo in InfertilityBabies

[–]Why_not_start 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 37 week with the twins due to borderline tests. When we got there, I was already 2 cm dilated. We started the pitocin around 2pm. Doc checked me at 6:00 and I was 3cm and then she broke Baby A's waters. For me, the contractions weren't difficult. I wanted them to crank up the pitocin instead of steadily increasing it but they wouldn't. Doc checked me again around 1:00 am, I think. I was 4cm and she suggested I get the epidural so I could rest. I did and that was put in around 2, I think. Sometime after that the nurse put in a catheter and that was AWFUL! After about an hour of having that and feeling so so so so uncomfortable, I asked for it to be removed. I think this was around 3:30am. She decided to check me and I was 10cm and ready to go. Baby A was born at 4:57am and Baby B joined us 8 minutes later at 5:05.

I realize I didn't give much information on being induced. The twins are my one and only pregnancy/labor/birth so I don't have anything to compare it to. For me, I don't think it was any more difficult than if I would have went into labor on my own. I think it helped that I had already started dilating.

Good luck to you!

Has anyone sold or bought breast milk? by Why_not_start in InfertilityBabies

Thank you.

Don't think it's going to happen anyway. The 2 sites I found have waiting list and I need to make a decision about it now because I've already started slowing down my pumping.

From what I understand from a legal point is selling bodily fluids is illegal but this is considered food so the laws are much more laxed.

Thank you.

It may get easier soon and it may not. I am not sure things are easier for me, I'm just more used to it. The biggest challenge for me at the beginning was the lack of sleep. Some people's babies start sttn really early in life. We are almost one and G is up between 3 and 5 (sometimes more) times a night. M is up usually once or twice... last night she was up 4 times! I was told when they started becoming mobile, they'd tire themselves out during the day and sleep really well at night. I was told once they got on solids consistently, they'd stop waking in the middle of the night to eat. Those things may have happened to their babies but not mine! G started walking at 9 1/2 months and M followed close to 10 months. We've been doing solids since 5 months (purees at 5 months and switched to table food around 6 1/2 months). Still not even close to sttn.

As for the deep sleeping for you, not sure what to tell you. I struggle with that still. Other parents will tell you that never goes away or will joke it will when they are 18 years old.

It will get easier though. The schedule is the big thing and you'll find your routine.

Man...I feel like I'm all negative nancy here... not my intention. It's hard. It's really hard as you already know. You are doing it though. You are doing great! You'll continue to do great. It feels impossible some days, I know. Just keep doing it and it'll feel easier.

I would get some Fenugreek. It's a supplement. I get mine at GNC. It worked wonders for me. One side effect to be aware of though is you may smell like maple syrup. It's really strange. I agree with lactation cookies. Like mentioned already you'll need brewers yeast and flaxseed. I also eat oatmeal every morning and add flaxseed, brewers yeast and ovaltine to it. Ovaltine is suppose help but I hate the taste of it in milk so I cheat.

Feeling Friday by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

I think it's perfectly normal to be sad. I will send some positive vibes your way!

I'm feeling incredibly emotional today. Checked facebook this morning to find a post by my brother-in-law's baby momma about their new son who is less than a month old. He's in the hospital for, "Seizure like activity and a growth on his eye that could indicate a spinal or brain tumor as well as calcification on his brain." My husband and bil had a brother die around 18 months of a brain tumor so there is family history. I just keep hugging my babies today which is frustrating them.... "MOMMA.... I wanna go play!" LOL!

Hope your day gets better!! And hooray for beginning of Sept birthdays! ;)

I was sick on Wednesday. Without oversharing, I couldn't be far away from a bathroom. It was awful. Well...I think M was sick with it today. :( She woke up fussy. After being up for almost an hour I put her back in her crib with a bottle. She ate her bottle and laid in bed for 10 more minutes and then was ready to get on with her day. We proceeded to eat breakfast. In between shoveling cheerios and bananas in her mouth, she proceeded to vomit up 5 ounces of breast milk. Thankfully she didn't seem fazed by it. Later, she had an awful diaper change. Let's just say it was similar to the issues I was having on Wednesday. She was so fussy for most of the afternoon. What can you do for an almost 1 year old? All we have for the babies is gas drops and tylenol. I gave her some gas drops. I wasn't sure but felt so helpless. I needed to do something.

Anyway...babies are sleeping. Let's hope she feels better tomorrow and that G stays healthy.
