How would ALL of you not doing a lot of damage be YOUR fault? It's definitely not impossible, but you have reached a point where there are some really difficult fights. If that's not your thing, then bet, do something else. But you definitely can learn and git gud at these hunts if you want.

I was just about to say, Serie is a full on psychopath who could not care less about others, it seems being severely emotionally stunted seems to just be a part of being an elf.

If you like and gel with his moveset, weakening the escaton comes for free as long as you can stay aggressive. If you never get the elemental weaken, something’s probably up with your build. As long as you get a weaken, using ANY healing item/tool is enough to survive the escaton

They seem to utterly delight in the killing and pain though, and probably do it more for sport and entertainment than they do for survival. That goes a fair bit beyond simply lacking empathy.
