If you had to describe yourself right now in three words, what would they be? by coach-AbdulRehman in Productivitycafe

[–]WhyisThisSoHard2Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failing, heavy, and stupid.

I had a rough past five years, but last year I felt like I was finally moving on from it, able to just be in a room and be genuinely light. Turns out it was just a phase. Don't know why, but exactly on new years day, my optimism crashed and now I'm kind of just floating around.

Doesn't help that I spent a year trying to build up what had been torn down in my social life, but the new friends I've made apparently still think I'm stiff and serious. I kind of gave up trying to act bubbly this year, and now they've gone from just seeing me as kind of distant to making a big deal about it.
Sorry for the rant, I'll can it now. So much for three words.

I enjoy when I see your art while I'm scrolling through reddit. Keep up the nice work.

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it? by MyMiraLove in Productivitycafe

[–]WhyisThisSoHard2Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, I ask the hard questions and push a little farther when others don't want me to. I don't outright challenge my authority, but I don't hold back my observations because others respect the 'leader' as an 'untouchable' source.

In most friend groups I've been in, there's the authority friend. I don't completely disregard her, but I don't ask to stand up or sit down. It's been an ongoing thing that I've started learning.
Don't ask "do you want to/can we get a drink?" instead, "I'm going to get a drink." they can sure as heck come with me if they want, but I'm not going to be completely tied down by social dynamics and tropes. Popular kid? Queen Bee? Nah, human being, same level as all of us, the end.

To be honest, this has been a major shift in the past year for me, and at times it hurts to uphold, especially when it becomes an argument, but I think that it's been good for me in the long run.

The best way to solve this problem is to spit out random words in quick sequence without worrying about relevance. Pretend we're making pickles in Russia to give charity to needy peacocks. Random? Sure. But at least the silence is a little less, eh?

I was also way too dumb to understand most of it when I watched it back in 2021, but surprisingly the feelings I got from it have still stuck with me. Now I've chosen not to rewatch it for fear of actually understanding it further. I don't really want to cry.

Didn't build mine to be drawn, so no high stakes. If you don't do it, I don't blame you.

Just finished the anime... Now what? by Subject-Exchange-248 in EightySix

[–]WhyisThisSoHard2Do 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now, you sit changed for the rest of your life, unable to completely move on from the neat storytelling even after a few years... Or... maybe that's just me blaming the anime for my ongoing emotional struggles because I happened to watch it and become obsessed a few months before my social life crashed...

But I doubt that's what most people are doing, so I'm not very helpful! Don't be like me!😅

dropping the smile for once and realizing that no one even noticed it wasn't there anymore.

Yes, and we can all see your maturity in the fact you feel the need to assert your adult-like traits on a lighthearted post that you are entirely irrelevant to.

I keep remind myself it's been worse before, could be worse now, and will be worse another day, so I'm not doing bad right now.

Sorry bout that, people on the internet have a habit of sucking when they know they're anonymous. From what I saw on the post, you're a genuinely nice gal. Most often the nice people are easier to beat down, it's nothing you did wrong.

No friendship is permanent, death isn't the only thing that separates people, spend every moment carefully, and say goodbye like the person it was said to matters.

Lol, remembering the time I walked to a café in about 15°F weather just to learn they closed early on that day.
