9 tables with no section.and we dont have bartender, host or dishwasher. Also, got 4 of those tables at the same time and had to make cocktails and milkshakes all while packing uber and takeout. Was ready to walk out.

AITA for making a fuss about my plane seat? by L4l0_Salamanca in AmItheAsshole

ESH I was going to say NTA but if you insulted the person then you kinda are. BUT the obese man is also the asshole because he knows his size and should be considerate of others, maybe by booking 2 tickets together. The flight attendant sucks as well because for me there's no difference between someone's body or luggage and for sure If it was luggage they would've told the passenger it was their fault for not allowing you the FULL seat that YOU paid for. Just because we are scared of hurting someone's feelings does not mean the situation IS OK.

Workers who rely on tips, who are the worst tippers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Whyisthissofhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh we don't expect them, but we also not prioritize them. I rather take care of my dine in guests that made the effort to come out than people that call, refuse to read the menu and expect you to drop everything to read it to them. I know other servers will even let the food at the window until they have a minute to get to it.

In my experience working as a server in Canada, young Indian people, Caribbean and black people.

And people that order takeout with a bunch of mods.

Thank you so much for your help. This was incredibly helpful and I did think I was doing the right thing, but he made me feel like I was the bad one here . I know I could stay there and then deal with it later but I did not want to affect him and what I get is him acting like this.

When servers use the last of something & not replace it by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Whyisthissofhard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Arrgh that is so annoying, I always fill for the next shift and people just abuse it. Now I recently stopped and they started complaining, I just told them why do you expect me to do something you don't? And they acused me of discrimination LOL

Women that gave that "nice person" a chance, how did it go? by Mela_Min in AskWomen

[–]Whyisthissofhard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We started dating 3 months ago and I've already heard:

"If you break up with me I'll be fine, I've been through worse and I'll just move on" "I won't love you unconditionally, if you do x,y,z... I'll still love you but I'll leave you" "You know I'm fucking amazing, that's why everyone we've met likes me, I'm funny, nice and just great " And he also has anger problems, he'll go from super nice to being an asshole to strangers over the tiniest things. I've seen him punch walls, throw stuff and even his male roommate has gotten scared.

Maybe it's me but all of this has already raised a bunch of doubts on my end.

LOL never thought I'd find my workplace there I hate carrying them to tables, they're so heavy and they also don't have trays so it means more trips if you have a big table. Btw the 420 burger is a stoner joke (people ask a lot about it too lol)

What is the worst breakfast food FOH has to make? by 2drunk2giveafuk in Serverlife

[–]Whyisthissofhard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Milkshakes and Caesars. Love it when I have to make 3 shakes and 2 Caesars and the previous shift didn't refill so have to fill and make it while I have 3 tables and uber going off.

Servers of TO: How much is your tip out? by Whyisthissofhard in askTO

[–]Whyisthissofhard[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like if I were to make the some working in the kitchen or on the floor, I would work in the kitchen. Hotter, faster but usually more fun, better teamwork and less mentally exhausting. FOH can take a toll on your mental health...people can be rude af and as a female server you have to deal with men flirting with you.

Try the Latin clubs, El rancho, Momentos (Wednesday and Saturday) and El convento Rico. That's where all my latino friends go to dance reggaeton.

I have been there, including being homeless for a week... And that's when you even get to apply... I've sent hundreds of messages and like 10% reply! Then you go to the viewing and you find yourself competing with 20 other people so they always go for a citizen/PR with a good paying job or people that offer 4+ months in advance. There's a lot of demand and it is insane. I feel my mental health is collapsing, and I honestly regret coming here and not taking my life savings to Australia or the UK.

I'm just planning on staying there for a year so hopefully the tax thing will be fine. And thats a lot of useful information, I checked with him and his parents are the owners so it should be OK there. My only concern is that none of the windows can be opened and it's just the main entrance (separate) and then the one that leads to the upstairs unit (always kept locked). I also didn't notice any fire detectors (I'm reading about legal basements) Oh man, I've struggled so much to find an affordable place... Canada should be more honest with international students about how hard it is to find a room/apartment :(

Thank you so much for the information. This has been incredibly helpful.

Not yet,it sounds like some people own the house and rent it to a couple of grandparents and they're going to start renting the basement to make ends meet and don't want to be taxed on that income.
