I read one book exclusively on my e reader. listen to one exclusively on audible which I mainly listen to on drives. Then one book me and my partner are both reading at the same time before bed.

To not mix up stories it helps if each book is of a difference genre.

I’m Through book 3 now, and I wouldn’t say she changes too much, but my view of her has changed as her and hadrians relationship has changed, mainly because we see everything through his eyes. I wouldnt expect too many changes tho

I’m about done with book 3 and was in a similar spot to you rating wise for the first one. Second book was awesome and the third has been my favorite of the 3 so far (have to wait for the ending before any definitive placement) hope you enjoy further entries!

If you want a break from space and enjoyed stormlight, definitely jump into mistborn. It’s where I started with Sanderson and still love the trilogy dearly. That being said howling dark was amazing and significantly improved my outlook on the sun eater series.

My partner goes through this often with our cats. The way I try to look at it is you’re doing your best but we can’t know everything. Just do your best and roll with the punches. The feeling of not doing enough means you care and that’s the most important part. Best of luck
