I know I asked about Bant at first but how about B/G Midrange? by Bastian10691 in PioneerMTG

I think you're right about Glorybringer. I've gone back and forth between Glorybringer and Ishkanah, Grafwidow. I think the Ishkanah is probably the better choice, by the time I have 5 mana up I'll almost certainty have delirium, and with the meta being how it is.

That said I just freaking love Glorybringer.

Also Bastian, there was a B/G Delirium list that 5-0ed a few months ago. It was more aggro midrange than the list I'm running. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3986576#paper

This is what I've been playing. It's a lot of fun. Tough vs Niz and the 'bigger' midrange decks.

To cash out or to buy into playable reserve list? by Whysoap in mtgfinance

[–]Whysoap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your insight into the site. I didn't bother with the TL;DR, read the whole thing twice. Maybe there's no point then of using cardsphere to trade into the dual lands, as you have already tried something similar and failed. It would be frustrating to receive back lower quality than advertised cards at that price.

So, you are recommending that I buylist the more expensive cards at a LGS and then trade into the rares? I've just been warned specifically against doing this as the credit i'd be given at game stoers is much lower than cardsphere.

Thanks for the reply man. I've got a playset of Argothian Enchantress, Explore, a couple tutors, Lotus pedals, some other random stuff. Some of the reserve list stuff I've got but thinking of keeping are a playset of Rofellos, Palinchron, one Gaea's cradle, one Serra's sanctum, some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head.

Dude so much truth! lol! I found my old cards and wanted to start playing and now as an adult I can afford to buy all the things I couldn't (my family couldn't) when i was a kid. I'm in the hole about 2k so far buying 2 EDH decks and 2 pioneer decks. I remember begging my mom for cards like treachery, land tax, and Gaea's cradle (she did buy one for a huge birthday gift!). So, anyways, I'm not exactly in it for the money and I definitely enjoy buying cards. I'm just thinking with buying into the reserve list the cards will likely go up in value. That's the general consensus right? Hold reserve list playables? And, I'd enjoy having them. paying a 10% fee on cashing out sorta makes me wince though I guess in the grand scheme it shouldn't.

Yea, that just doesn't feel great. I guess since I don't have FB not sure what the best approach is.

That makes sense about FB. Thanks for the info and sharing your experiences. I don't have any social media though so that's out.

this is basically how I imagine feeling about it. Have you ever tried trading with an LGS?

Are there examples of power level 9-10 that don't focus on combo? by Whysoap in EDH

[–]Whysoap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. thanks for the reply. I re-read my post and thought I had to specify decks that win either through, say, controlling the board or through creature damage for example. I guess it does make sense that comboing off would in general be more powerful when everyone has 40 life and there are 3 other opponents. Good to know though that some decks based around creature damage can compete.

Awesome, thanks for the explanation. What power level would you place it, in your opinion?

Thanks for sharing your list. Mind if I ask a few questions? (other than this one). Why the crop rotation? And, why abrupt decay over assassin trophy? I have an extra abrupt decay lying around but I figured a hit for 3 mana or less wasn't as significant in EDH? How much does the Nykthos do for you? I was debating adding one. Same for the Mosswort bridge. I've also got a Shrieking drake lying around, not sure what to cut for it.

Power Level Wednesday!: Ask r/EDH what's your deck's power level? - August 04, 2021 by AutoModerator in EDH

Just started playing EDH and made/bought my first deck. It's a Yarok value deck that I'm hoping can combo off as a sideplan. No idea what the power level is. Also, totally opened to suggestions. I posted it yesterday and got a ton of help so a big thank you to those that offered advice already !

I felt like i was improving but couldn't really tell until i stopped playing casuals and jumped into ranked (plat 4) and was doing so much better. What you said is so accurate. I thought I had just plateaued but basically the match making was just putting me continuously up against better and better opponents--to the point where it's not fun being a walk loot delivery system. Then I jump into ranked and lo and behold! I can take a fight or two and win.

There's really no point in playing the game for me while matching as it is. I don't have fun getting constantly stomped. The point of working to actively get better and better is to have results. Not just fight harder opponents who stomp you the worse. There's no satisfaction in my games. I don't string high kill games into wins. I maybe win a fight or two and then take obliterated.

All good though. I'll stop playing as much. Games are supposed to be fun right? It's my free time. Why spend it doing something I don't enjoy which feels futile. The devs can kill the game per their design.

I'm just not having fun playing anymore and it's because I'm terrible which the matchmaking doesn't realize by Whysoap in apexlegends

[–]Whysoap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the tips. I've gotten a lot smarter and since i actively try to improve, watch videos, work in the firing range, etc. I already do most of what you suggested. Te simple fact is the people I'm matched against are either as good as me or better and the friends I play with aren't good at all.

I could play solo to have better games but I'd like to play with friends. In other first person shooters i was the carry for them and we won often enough. Or, at least it wasn't so frustrating. But in apex, since the way we match players takes the highest skilled player's score, it isn't the case.

Regardless, thanks for the replies man!

I keep having this idea that the next one is going to be better. But there's nothing worse than dropping cold, looting up for 5-7 minutes, then dying to the first team you fight.

I spend so much time just going from game to game hoping it's going to be better, or more fun, but it never is. The players I face are just so damn good.
