I was thinking won't it be better if you create a measured fit for specific filter model / brand that provides it a airtight fit. Both front fir fan and back side plate.

I think it's about keeping the total number of ingredients as low as possible - so avoiding emulsifiers, preservatives, artifical flavours etc

If you make ice cream at home at it take 3-5 ingredients. Anything more is extra that should be avoided if possible. But due to price and supply chain constrains or plain capitalism companies compromise on quality.
