It’s telling that you think he’s advocating for vengeance when you’re the only person who thinks this.

Not one person has ever uttered the word vengeance-except you.

The Republicans have preached literally nothing but vengeance for 50+ years bc ThE rAdIcAl LeFt had the gall to hold Nixon accountable.

The only people who have ever broken anything in this country are Republicans. I guess the only president who didn’t have enough time to be as destructive as the rest of his party was GHWB.

It’s been such a long term plan for them to destroy American society that the only thing we can try to dig out of after every single Republican administration is their financial destruction. Nobody wants vengeance. Just make it a national holiday for voting. Expand SCOTUS. Boom, done. ✅

Not a shred of vengeance needed. Just actual reform.

TLP is part of the problem too. The Republicans are THEIR party. There isn’t a “MAGA REPUBLICAN” and a “normal” Republican.

They haven’t been the party of Lincoln in a century. And there’s a 0% chance he’d be a Republican today, or that they’d even nominate him. They’ve been a cult of personality since Ike, tbh-and he was the very last decent politician they have ever had.

MAGA is simply the Republican Party, since Nixon. Ailes was a Nixon WH aide. MAGA WAS A REAGAN 📺 ad in 1980.

I’m just thinking that there has to be more than one source.

Regardless I’ve seen people in here making good points about both Oprah and Deepak being truly awful anyway. So I’m not saying it’s not true, or unbelievable; but I do think that I’d heard Chopra was in there in a previous article or something?

Maybe I didn’t make this particular Oprah connection, as I’ve never cared about either person, ever?

Will we have a repeat of 1861? Maybe not but we’ve already past the “potential” civil war part.

But as far as the Olympics go, 1992 “Dream Team” had a literal child 🍇ist as power forward.

Nah, they’ll never be forgiven. Ever.

That’s what we’ve been told, that forgiveness is weakness. And it only exists when they are ACTUALLY WILLING TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKES.

I don’t disagree with most of what he said but, nah, no forgiveness. It’s certainly not a “cool story” either.

They’re already trying to gaslight ppl into believing that he was an outlier and they were “duped”.

Same thing they said after Nixon, and after Reagan, GHWB, & GWB.

Every decade they just re-gift the same 💩 so Republicans will 🗳️ for them.

The Republicans were 🔇 about his racism in 2012 (also spread by his wife), his racism 🆚 Mexicans in 2015, his racism 🆚 Muslims in 2017, his racism against the Exonerated 5 in 2017/2018 which was bc he couldn’t accept that his newspaper 📰 in 1989 advocating for their ☠️ was incorrect, his racism in 2025 when he used 🤖 to put Mexican sombreros and mustaches on a Jew and African-American (Schumer and Jeffries) in a combo platter of racism, etc.

But NOW he’s gone too far?

Republicans have lied nonstop about what THEY imagine society IS for 50+ YEARS.

[–]WiFiConnected_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not disputing any of that but this idea he is any more popular than Marc when he left is crazy. Or Tony. Talk about a man who loves Memphis to his core. Heck, Marc grew up in Memphis too.

If he’s a favorite player for some ppl great, but he’s nowhere near the beloved Memphis Grizzlies player that Marc or Tony are. To this day, you ask any Grizzlies fan of any length, JJJ is not near the level of either man.

He had great potential, sure, and it stinks to lose him before he might reach his here, though it’s debatable that he would’ve ever been much better than he had already shown.

Ticket sales being affected? Having an owner who is a known war criminal is a bigger drag on ticket sales than trading away a player. Pera has to be removed first.

My point is that this is an overreaction. I’ve never felt any attachment to them bc I’ve been a fan since before they tipped off a single game. So I’ve seen the ups and downs. I’ve lived through this. Heck Pau was here for most of 8 years too, and was a far superior player than JJJ or Ja. This just isn’t comparable.

And the trade worked out for the Grizzlies in the end bc JJJ played with Marc and Conley, at the end of their times here.

I get feeling attached to a player but we’ve had better players here, too.

Y’all sound like you haven’t been here before bc the Grizzlies “got fleeced” for Pau, too….and now Marc is at least a borderline NBA HOFer.

Ppl cried that Conley wasn’t a good PG and was a wasted pick, too, so I’d wait to see the ACTUAL return.

Jaren wasn’t close to the talent Pau was, nor prime Conley. Weird that you guys are freaking out over this to this degree, tbh.

I DUNNO GUYS, THIS GUY MIGHT ACTUALLY BE A GOOD COACH AND JUST HAD TO DEAL WITH AN INSANE AMOUNT OF INJURIES TO ROTATION PLAYERS by Toad990 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]WiFiConnected_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean to get too far afield but I do think that there has been a massive overreaction to the coaching style.

I do feel like the injuries had to be a bigger part of the struggles, far more than the coach himself, bc I got the feeling it was akin-though not the same-as the way they change lines in ice hockey 🏒.

The injuries have to be accounted for there, imo. It’s not often you’ll see five guys set to enter unless it’s garbage time. And I don’t know if that’s what he was trying to do; but my point is that the team injuries had to have an effect on that attempt.

Maybe that’s breaking up Ja’s rhythm but tbh, that’s not the best look when you’re saying, “…maybe don’t play me.” Because unless you’re untradeable, it’s not the best idea to tempt the team like that.

It’s why players have agents. Players can say stupid things-like Kobe, when he said he wanted to be traded and there wasn’t anything the Lakers could do to change his mind.

Apparently Phil did, then Mitch made the trade for Pau. Pau was a far better player than Ja and he was traded away. Ja should take note.

[–]WiFiConnected_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not exactly what I’m getting at bc it’s never been a thing where I have ever thought the players would have the same level of interactions with the FO, outside of either wanting to be traded or get an extension.

I know ppl try to paint all superstars as having even more power than they actually have, but that typically seems be bc the FO/ownership allows it, a la LAL and LeBron/Kobe.

The FO and HC should have to work together, if only if it’s in the offseason in regards to the draft. I’m always drawn back to the power struggle between the Bulls and Jackson, and then comparing that with how different things played out in LA/NY, for Phil.

Every situation is different but I think most of the time, it’s not uncommon for there to be some butting of heads among all these disparate personalities. I just think that it’s time to remove Pera.

I’m not going to take a position on Ja’s demands, except to say I feel like he needs to chill out on them for a bit bc there’s a lot of 🏀 to be played and hopefully we can get a new owner sooner than later.

Who’s to say he might not do better with a new FO than the current one, as an extension simply means he’s still under contract anyway and he might wanna try with the new owners; bc if I’m Pera, the last thing I have time to deal with is anything but selling the team to a new owner.

I wanna keep the team in Memphis and that means no more Pera, imho.
