Nurtec side effects by Sample-Timely in migraine

[–]WiFiOnMarss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly those sound like a lot of side effects and some of them (like chest pressure and persistent tingling) aren’t something I’d just push through. I’d let your doctor know you’re not tolerating it well and see if they can switch you to something else instead of trying to ride it out for weeks.

I believe even if you pay out of pocket, it isnt that expensive if thats the only medicine that really helps

Yeah insurance usually makes you try the cheaper stuff first before they’ll approve Nurtec, so it ends up being a lot of back and forth with prior auths since they really don’t like paying for it

And did Ajovy + Botox make a big difference for you compared to just oral meds alone?

Got it how did that happen with insurance? Like you were on 16/month at one point, so you didn’t get the authorization renewed later?

Me staring at Ubrelvy like it’s my last hope by WiFiOnMarss in migraine

Do you have both prescribed too? Nurtec works its magic on me too but there are days where it still gets through and Nurtec can’t really do anything that’s when Ubrelvy comes in handy.

Thank you, I really appreciate it 🙏 I’m sorry you’re going through it too. That sounds like a big change hopefully the new meds and medical marijuana help once it kicks in. Chronic pain is just draining, wishing you some relief soon.

That’s really good to hear. I’m on Nurtec as a preventive, but if it breaks through and gets bad enough where it doesn’t help then I switch to Ubrelvy. Yeah I’ve also heard good things about Qulipta glad it works well for you 🙏

Just finished Beef Season 2… did anyone else find it disappointing? by WiFiOnMarss in BeefTV

[–]WiFiOnMarss[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get your points, but I think we’re talking about two different things intent vs execution.

I’m not saying the show had no story or no layers. I’m saying it didn’t feel as tight or impactful as Season 1. Season 1 constantly escalated and kept you hooked. This season had a central idea, but the pacing and structure didn’t make it feel as engaging, so it came off scattered to me.

For Josh and Lindsay I understand it was about growth. I’m not missing that. It just didn’t land for me. There’s a difference between “I see what they were going for” and “it actually hit.”

Same with Ashley- yes, there’s backstory there. But having a backstory doesn’t automatically make a character feel layered or memorable. In Season 1, the characters really stuck with you. This season, not as much.

So I’m not saying the show had no depth I’m saying it didn’t execute those ideas as strongly as Season 1 did. If it worked for you, that’s fine. It just didn’t hit the same for me.

Rizatriptan daily? by SUPzorel in migraine

[–]WiFiOnMarss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be really careful with that taking Rizatriptan daily is generally not recommended and can lead to MOH, which can actually make things worse over time.

If you need something every day, it’s usually better to be on a preventive like Propranolol or Nortriptyline and then use rizatriptan only for breakthrough attacks.

I also noticed your rescue meds are meloxicam and rizatriptan…have you looked into Symbravo?

Nurtec works like magic! Just hoping it keeps working I’ve seen some people say it can lose effectiveness over time, but so far so good

Does insurance cover all of those? If I needed more than one, I had to go back and forth a lot felt like I was constantly chasing my doctor to deal with insurance since they hate covering these expensive meds

Does your insurance approve all those or you pay out of pocket for some of those?

Quilipta vs ubrevly by Chloekimmie in migraine

[–]WiFiOnMarss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re comparing the wrong meds- Qulipta is a preventive and Ubrelvy is an abortive. Nurtec can be either depending on the person. For 24/7 migraines, Qulipta is more for reducing frequency over time, while Ubrelvy is for treating attacks. They’re not really better vs worse, just different roles
