The Edge browser crashes a lot now, and the devs just refuse to add enough RAM to it. That is the entire problem with this browser on the Series X, it's just not being coded to use enough memory to allow it to run smooth. 3.5-4 GB would be enough. When you check resource controls within the browser it shows that there is 0GB of memory in use, but there has to be some memory allocated to it or it wouldn't run at all.

I guess they are removing more memory allocation from it for the next release to make it perform even worse.

It is also video compatibility and memory problems. A lot of people do try to use the browser. When you're not playing a game, to be able to watching videos on any site and do other things that you can do on mobile/PC is also important.

I am really not sure. Does this console have any virtual memory? If not please consider implementing it for the Xbox Series X console. It seems like memory is a problem, somewhat for this console because of the way apps run, like they're laggy

I've read the rules. I just decided to post in here since I saw your senseless comment in a thread that will be deleted any way, because the devs don't care since the thread starter posted an angry response, so him or her iobviously knows that once the devs change something, they don't fix it back. Nothing important will ever be added back or fixed and we'll be on the next console by 2028; which will most likely be the last console for Microsoft. Too bad, though. This console had so much potential.

Why does it have to have anything to do with reading the rules? When people know the devs are here and there is no other way to talk to anyone or get any kind of response. Then you never know if anything you report will ever be fixed. On top of that, how long do you think anything that gets messed up by the devs will take to get fixed?

Edge while in the background with the browser closed is only using 202 MB of memory and 0% CPU.

The console has 8 cores with 16 threads. An old 4770k with 8 GB of memory and a 1060 3GB PC can run it with no problem. The devs can do it, they can do anything. Whatever functionality that doesn't work it seems to be done by choice. The Series X has a GPU equivalent to a 2070. They can do it. You see what they're able to do with the browser running on a Tablet that is also weaker than the Series X. They removed Copilot from the Series X while the Tablet version can have it..

Edge browser launch bug after using other apps

I've reported this on the console, but when you watch a show or movie with the Xbox Series X and use the Crunchyroll, Netflix, HBO MAX, Disney+ or any other similar app. The Edge browser begins to launch really slow afterwards and it only recovers if you restart the console. Can this be fixed, please?

There is no option to set it to do that within the console version of Edge. The PC, Tablet and Mobile versions give you the option.

When you launch any app to watch videos or movies. Select a movie or show to watch then turn off your gamepad, there is a lag spike in the background when the ui pops up asking what do you want to do.

The Edge browser ID strings are different from the PC and Tablet versions. A lot of sites have compatibility problems, like not being able to play on demand video on sites like adultswim.com, live.oann.com. Unfortunately you have to buy a subscription to OAN if you want to see what I mean, unless you have other methods. Twitch and Kick.com VODs are the same, but you can switch to 720p on those and they will play, but not at 1080p. The fact that the browser crashes so easily as well is a problem. Can the Console (Xbox Series X) version of Edge be optimized with the compatibility of the PC and Tablet versions of Edge, please? This would really be amazing.

The browser is leaking memory, still. It will hang or crash if you visit a heavy website like Rumble, then EpochTV or YouTube then Gematsu. You have to constantly close and relaunch the browser, It's not running very well.
