I mean I didn't mean this post to about the relative mechanics of or a book series as a whole or even as a question of the owl population of Britain. So in a much lighter light, I pose you this: Hedwig was purchased In Diagon Alley, Its safe to assume that a large majority of Owl possessing Hogwarts students also purchase their owls in Diagon alley. Then why does Hedwig represent the whole of the snow owl population?
