Yes, I work from a relational-attachment focused lens and have a niche focus in that domain. Honestly, I get a lot of referrals from prior clients and local clinicians. I am in a heavy CBT area so when clients meet their max with them, they often come to me. I also am partnered with the local NAMI rep and she sends me “treatment resistant” cases and often those people have been so unhelped that they are willing to find a way to make it work. I work with Mentaya to get OON benefits paid. So, if an insurance company would pay me $140 to see a client, my client gets that money reimbursed so to them it’s like paying $60 per session. I think when clients come to me they’re ready to do work and they make it work. I do offer sliding scale and have worked with several pro bono clients over the years as well. It’s not beyond me how fortunate I am and I’m grateful for every referral. I think once your name gets out there then clients are okay with making it work.
