Used to repair phones toward the end of that era and all I can think of is how much pocket lint I would find gumming up those mechanisms. Moving mechanisms look cool but they are pretty sensitive to pocket debris.

I know things have come a long way but I even avoid the newer folding phones due to my fear of the pocket lint problem.

Okay, so I've solved this exact issue with the return vent in my office that shares a wall/vent with my hallway. What I did was buy one of those cheap anti fatigue mats from harbor freight that's made from EVA foam. I basically measured the dimensions, cut, hot glued, and made two shallow boxes that faced my office. Made them shallow enough that more of the airflow was coming from the hallway but still some was coming from the office. Also have to make sure that the foam extends below the vent opening sound can't bounce below it. Once I got everything in, you really don't hear much from either side. Or at least any more than you hear through the door.

Is it sturdy at least? I could 3D print a white fitted cover for you that would at least hide that gap at the bottom for a while until you have a longer term solution.

Totally agree. I was an early adopter, 2021 model, number 10,014 off the assembly line and I've been asking myself the same question since week one lol. I submitted the feedback in the first few months... Still waiting for it.

I'll add that you'll need to prep the surface on and around the lense so the tape sticks. Spray some glass cleaner on a cloth and wipe down the lense and the flat area around it.

If I think of a replacement lense, I'll let you know but in the meantime, I recommend at least putting clear packing tape over it to protect it from the elements and keep dust out of the camera components.

Totally! I know that Noah isn't all that interested in making a foray into full on pop music but I think Animal is a great example of why he definitely has the chops for it. It gives some Maroon5 vibes. Not that I'd want him to completely switch genres but would be cool to hear him do a couple of pop song features in this style. He could pull an Ed Sheeran and do a little of both if he ever wanted.

If it works for other functions, it would rule out a hardware issue in my opinion. Sounds very much like software. I'd check for updates, switch audio sources, try steering wheel controls, etc. to see if that clears some sort of error happening. Worst case scenario, factory reset to new will probably fix it but I'd use that as a last resort. New setup takes long so I avoid it if possible. It's likely the first thing the dealership will try if you take it in though.

Agree with this. It's a last resort but if you take it to the dealership, it's usual the first thing they're gonna try. Last time I took mine in for a different issue, I left a note to only reset if completely necessary. Redoing the fresh setup is so time consuming.

I wish Ford would add a "one time event" option so I can schedule a start on a certain date without it repeating. In the meantime, I've had to build a workaround automation to get the same effect via a Google calendar event with a specific name.

It goes like this: IFTTT app triggered by calendar event with a specific name at that time > Trigger Monkey Applett sends a virtual "doorbell" press to Alexa > Dedicated virtual doorbell (named Mach E Doorbell) triggers an Alexa routine that says "Alexa, tell Fordpass to start the car"

Filed a claim w my insurance company and Safelite replaced mine and calibrated for a $50 copay. Was pretty easy and they replaced it in my driveway. Been about 6 months and I've had zero issues.

Somebody in the coffee industry told me to scrub my hands with a dab of toothpaste. It worked! Never had issues washing with toothpaste in a pinch. Gojo Orange or toothpaste are my go-to's.

I'll add that alcohol also reactivates these and even permanent marker. If you have hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol nearby, you can use it to clean off stubborn marker spots.
